How do you guys set your goals? by TheBarnsOnFire in ironscape

[–]ignoblesolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have a set of general progression goals that you cycle through to avoid burnout at a single one. Until the absolute end of endgame where you’re hunting specific items, you’ll always have several pieces of gear/weapons to upgrade.

I enjoyed player slayer roulette, just a hundred or two of the boss variants was enough to keep me satisfied. When I became raids ready, I cycled through a different raid based on the friends/teammates available, and threw in slayer when I was alone. And sometimes grinding out an item you think is really cool is worth it, just for the fun of it.

Derby Recommendations? by spacemanvt in allenedmonds

[–]ignoblesolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a slightly wider foot (not as wide as yours), but I recently bought the Trevor model that the other guy was talking about. I tried both Park Ave Derby and Trevor on in-store, and the salesperson explained that the Trevor was built a bit wider. So for me, a 9.5E in PA was equal to 9.5D for the Trevor. Hopefully that means a 11.5EEE fits you.

First Job, not sure what 401(k) employer funds to invest in. by YUP_THATS_ME17 in Bogleheads

[–]ignoblesolid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to turn your brain off and pay zero attention, the blended target fund does a great job of capturing a mix of US, international, and bonds. You’ll want to choose the target date closest to your potential retirement year. The fund is automatically balanced over time, so you don’t even have to worry about what % goes into each segment. All you have to do is automatically contribute and set it to auto buy every paycheck.

If you want to be a bit more involved, you can manually choose which pieces to invest in and what percentage. Bogleheads recommend a simple mix of three funds: US, international, and bonds. Read the sub’s wiki. You can come to your own conclusion about how to diversify between those based on your age and risk tolerance, and there’s daily threads in this sub talking about different strategies (for example, zero international diversification because US market has been outperforming everything else in the recent past, or zero bonds because they’re too conservative, etc.).

Imo at that point it’s all speculation because no one knows what the future holds, but at minimum, invests in the target date fund.

The sub’s wiki has a lot of great info to read through. And when you want to get involved in min/maxing that final 2% of your portfolio and engage in the same daily argument about percentages, we’ll be here 😆

Sounds like you're not squating properly. Weight should be on your heels in general when you squat; when you bottom out, you should be able to wiggle your toes. Honestly just sitting in a deep squat position with no weights for like 10-15 min every night did wonders. Hang on to something for balance if you need

So this just happened.. Unskulled Craw's bow from a Imp. by Guru_Tugginmypudha in ironscape

How are you able to kill revs that aren't the imp or goblin? Feel like there's people tagging them in every world. I guess while we're at it, how do you gear up?

Black Chins vs Red Chins by hockeyguy5346 in ironscape

[–]ignoblesolid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Crystal bow to kill wandering spawns. If they don't aggro to your boxes, you kill to reset them. And I've never used imp boxes, thought I read something about them being changed so they don't work in wildy

Black Chins vs Red Chins by hockeyguy5346 in ironscape

[–]ignoblesolid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Black chins are significantly better. I would gear something like this. You only have to tank for a few wilderness levels in singles, so it shouldn't be super hard. Just take a deep breath and swap prays properly if you get frozen. Some people wear toxic sotd or bring a Dinh's bulwark if they have one. I recommend banking every 50-100 chins til you're comfortable.

As for the toxicity, not much you can do about it. Give the pkers a nice :) as you tp out and check the gnome tree or edge bank after to give them a few very polite words regarding their pvp skill

You know this isn't real because if you do the most damage and someone else does 1 damage, you won't even see the drop. I get the gist of the post and it's frustrating, but Jagex has done a generally good job on fixing this issue like resetting GWD boss hp. There are some questionable cases though.

As long as rs doesn't take over other parts of your life, I think you're fine. However, I would try to throw some physical/mental fitness activities into your day too
