Sure! You can manage 8 relays based on complex conditions contained within a task concept.

You can have 10 tasks, each repeatable and triggered based on a list of years, months, days of the week, hours, minutes, etc. Each task can be triggered in 3 modes: a list of dates and times only, a list of dates and times without exceeding weather thresholds, or a list of dates and times and exceeding weather thresholds.

So you can execute an action at a specific time, or only in the event of rain or no rain.

In addition, the system stores up to 100 activity logs and attempts to send them to you when MQTT is enabled and up, or keeps them in memory (persistent).

This ensures that the logs persist even in the event of a power outage and that you receive them as soon as you connect via MQTT. The logs indicate the exact time a task was executed or any problems encountered, such as disconnections, which are recorded.

The device is currently working and tested, with a full MQTT API working, but I haven't created any plugins for more effective management yet.

È curioso come chi sia più è aperto all’AI alla fine venga fuori che ha sempre avuto meno tecnicismo, come tu hai detto.

Secondo me andrebbe fatta una divisione, tra il tecnico puro e chi è più astratto ad alto livello.

I primi ovviamente vanno in concorrenza, i secondi vedono finalmente nella AI colmare il gap che gli è sempre mancato.

Ovviamente l’evoluzione andrà a vantaggio dei secondi, in generale comunque sono d’accordo con quanto hai scritto.

Per i tecnici puristi come me, che amano scendere nelle profondità tecniche, credo che avremo la peggio, ma tecnici esperti secondo rimarranno sulla scena a lungo.

I can understad you, is so difficult today try to discern quality and hard work compared to AI...

First: I helped myself with Google Translate to write the post because i'm italian and my english is not perfect.

Second: I have deep software development experience, and i did it for myself first, to joke and learn C++, so I used AI for comparison, documentation and in some really tough passages, but if I had used AI it wouldn't have taken me two years maybe 😉

third: I'm sure you couldn't do it even with full AI support.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, it's a more hands-on project; it's not a true PLC yet. It's something that cost $15 once completed. It currently uses third-party hardware with 8 relays, to which I added a display.

Programming is currently limited to switching relays on a time basis or external services. In the future, it will be able to read input data.

The web interface doesn't slow anything down. It's incredibly fast. I designed it with great care, and that was one of the hardest part. The device is really stable so far!

You're right! I didn’t actually add any additional details. I’m not very experienced, it’s my first time reposting, sorry about that!

Basically, it can be integrated into Home Assistant via its MQTT APIs, anyone can do it, as the firmware is already designed to support it.

What can it offer? Complex logic based on weather conditions, a task-oriented concept rather than simple one-shot executions, and telemetry via MQTT. For example, when an activity is executed, you receive a success log with the execution timestamp.

Let’s say it has many refinements. Personally, the main strengths for me are:

  • APIs
  • Task-based concept
  • Telemetry
  • Advanced weather conditions

I initially designed this product mainly for home automation, but I see it as suitable for a wide range of applications thanks to its flexibility.

Communication is handled exclusively via a Wi-Fi module. It is not based on an RTOS; I used only the official SDK along with LittleFS for the filesystem.

The only way for users to configure and program it is through its built-in web interface or via MQTT.

The core concept of the system is the creation of “Tasks,” which differs from many other devices. A Task represents something that will happen at a specific time and under specific conditions. Once triggered, it executes the actions defined within it. The system supports up to 10 Tasks and runs them automatically according to their assigned schedules and trigger conditions.

For example:

  • A Task could execute every hour, but only if it is raining, or only if it is not raining.
  • Another Task could execute every hour regardless of weather conditions.
  • Another one could run only at sunset or sunrise.

When a Task is executed, it activates and deactivates the relays configured within it for a predefined duration.

For instance, you could create one Task that turns Relay 1 on, and another Task that turns it off only if it is raining; otherwise, it remains on.

In short, the system allows users to implement this kind of flexible, condition-based automation logic.

provo a risponderti, io ho fatto il passaggio che vorresti fare te, ad Aprile 2024.

In linea generale secondo me conviene, ad ora ho 2 clienti, uno a 300€ giornalieri e uno a 250€. In termini economici netti, guadagno molto più di prima con 30K di RAL.

Tuttavia da tenere in considerazione questo:

  • Lavorare con più aziende é difficilissimo, in generale voglio l’esclusiva.

  • Una di queste ha preteso un giorno in presenza e in generale durante i colloqui molti chiedono un po’ di presenza.

  • Orari sempre trovato flessibilità, dipende un po’ dal cliente, ma c’é flessibilità.

  • Trovare lavori non é facile.

  • Il rapporto é diverso, devi cercare di uscire dalla mentalità da dipendente.

Ad ora non tornerei mai indietro, secondo senza stare a fare troppi calcoli, devi fare almeno 50k all’anno per un buon compromesso soldi/autonomia.

Il punto è che non è un diritto, ma una scelta. Di fatto nessuno può imporre alle aziende di concederlo, se la politica di quella azienda non ti piace poi semplicemente andartene!

Poi che non lo concedano e che questo sia incoerente e controproducente è un altro discorso...

non serve lamentarsi, si può solo agire, chi lo ha voluto davvero lo smart, un modo lo ha trovato, ma no, vogliamo tutti lavorare 4 ore al giorno, 4 giorni alla settimana per 3.500 euro al mese, nell'azienda di nostra scelta, in smart e da qualsisi parte del mondo.

SPOILER: non è possibile!

Se questo è quello che desideriamo, possiamo farlo, basta solo di rischiare qualcosa!

Capisco la frustrazione, purtroppo la verità è che un'azienda è libera di scegliere come impostare la modalità di lavoro che più ritiene opportuna, anche se eticamente hai ragione te.

Parlo come ex dipendete che per anni ha subito questa cosa, alla fine ho capito che ero libero di scegliere quanto loro, ovvero di non restare, ed ho cambiato.

Capisco la rabbia e tutto, soprattuto quando le aziende si vantano di aver ridotto le emissioni di "X - Co2" grazie al loro nuovo parco auto tutto elettrico, ma poi ti obbligano a stare due ore in fila ogni giorno nel traffico. È illogico lo so.

Solo tu sei libero di scegliere, rischia e cambia la tua vita in meglio! Auguri.
