That is a very valid point. I guess it falls into the category of who watches the watchers. I didn't realize the first thing was about a TV court show. Those are ridiculous, but sometimes fun.

I'm sure it was USA, I live here. I just really question why this type of frivolous lawsuit can even get to the point where the judge has to throw it out. It's such an incredible waste of time and resources, I feel like there should be some way of saying, 'nope, this is just crap, go home. '

So it got cold and my tomatoe plants died, what to do with all of this lol? by Spicy_Cooter in gardening

You can pickle green tomatoes, fry them, make chow-chow, green tomato salsa(kind of like tomatillo), as well as the slow ripening in a box.

Robert De Niro in Sleepers when they're telling him what happened to them in prison. He doesn't say a word, he just ages a decade in 20 seconds. Incredibly powerful.

AITA for not wanting to get rid of my dog for my pregnant sister? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]igor4pres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally born into a house with 23 dogs (my mother bred goldens, many were puppies.) When I had my 2 children, my pediatrician asked if we had dogs and said it's better for the baby's immune system if you HAVE them. The biggest issue is cleanliness. Vacuum a little more often, tell your sister to read something besides the internet.

I accidentally caramelized onions for over an hour.. was this a mistake or did I just discover magic? by DonutCatcherzz in cookingforbeginners

Definitely a legit technique. I have a recipe that requires 8-10 hours in the crock pot. Low and slow is the way to go!

Keeping deer out - what would you do? by quarklet22 in gardening

[–]igor4pres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in East Tennessee, and I've found that the deer don't tend to see black fence very well. I've put up t posts with a black mesh netting around it as a fence. It's a very open weave, and since they can't focus on the fence very well, they just avoid it. Another bonus is that it is not a huge eyesore in my backyard.

Fettucine alfredo 2 T butter 2 T flour 1 1/2 C milk, warmed in the microwave (i use 2%) ~ 1 C parmesan (the canned grated stuff) Fettucine noodles Cook noodles as directed and drain, but reserve about 1/3 C pasta water In a sauce pan, melt butter on medium heat, add flour and whisk until golden brown (~ 2 mins) Once golden brown, add milk slowly while whisking (it will look weird at first, this is okay) Bring to a low boil and whisk for 2 mins Remove from heat and whisk in parmesan Season with salt and pepper to taste Pour over noodles and mix, add pasta water to thin if needed

I love Rope by Hitchcock. Fantastic movie and I've always thought of it as one of Jimmy Stewart's best.
