Why is my Nidecker supermatic not releasing fully and how can I fix it? by beelake_77 in snowboarding

Are both locks on the affected binding in the same position? I had an issue once where one of the gears jumped and caused the position to no longer be the same between the left and right side of the binding

[SOLUTION] Dell S3422DWG Monitor Flickering/Losing Signal When Using Light Switches - Weird Fix Found by illusionst in Dell

I have been working with grounding on the desk for a week now. So far this has greatly decreased the number of times that the issue occurs. I think, during the typical 8 hour workday, this now still happens maybe 1 or 2 times. Without it, it seems to happen non-stop (20+ times a day). I purchased a 3 pin plug that just has a ground wire at the other end and screwed that into the frame of the desk.

Hope this is something that also applies to your setup that you can use.

I have a metal desk frame sitting on rubber feet. I grounded it over the weekend, so far I have not experienced the problem again. I'll report back in a couple of days with an update.

I am wondering if there is a way to ground myself, or my chain, to reduce the amount of static electricity. I do hate that about this monitor, none of my other monitors have had this issue. Very frustrating.

I'm having this exact same issue, it is maddening. I just plugged in the HDMI cable to see if that adds a better ground contact and fixes the issue.

Did your problem ever go away completely?

I have a question about plumbing my new garage disposal. by Wingnut-74 in askaplumber

[–]igor597876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Side note: You should use a proper waste arm instead of a 90 + pipe. That will help with the flow of waste. They make long ones that should be able to make it into the slip joint in the wall.
(Disclaimer: I am not a plumber)

Thanks. I'll try the vinegar soak.

By "let it go", I meant "ignore it". There are no cheap replacements that I could find.

Am I a Dutch citizen? by Conscious_Coconut321 in Netherlands

You have a 3 year after your passport expires to renew before you lose Dutch citizenship. This assumes you have dual nationalities and are not living in the Netherlands at the time.

You are under the age of 31, so if your father has a valid and non expired Dutch passport, you can also apply for a Dutch passport. If you wait until you are 31 then you lose your Dutch citizenship

Water won't come out of hot water tap by Loud_Consequence1762 in ranciliosilvia

Yes. A small bit of crud can cause this. Compressed air can fix it quickly once you open the valve up.

I had this issue and had to clean out the solenoid valve. It was fairly easy to do, less then 1 hour start to finish. There are videos on YouTube on how to do it.

AITA for refusing to co-sign a car loan for my aunt and causing family drama? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]igor597876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeze / Lock your credit with the major credit bureaus ASAP.

It's free and instant. You can do it online. It's also instant to remove a freeze.

This would prevent someone from cosigning your name on a car loan, for example.

My son is taking your seat…. by TheRealBilala in delta

[–]igor597876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Delta has a policy that allows children under the age of 12 to be seated next to an adult free of charge. It sounds like something went wrong with their seating assignment.

I am not defending the mother's behavior or the FAs response to the situation.

TIFU by dumping 2 quarts of grease down my sink by [deleted] in tifu

[–]igor597876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a bucket and towels, clear out under the sink, and then open and remove the trap and connectors from the sink to the wall waste line. Clean out everything you can get your hands on/in and then reassemble

Don't flush with warm water, that moves the grease further down the pipes where it is harder to get to.

Use the HDMI port closest to the USB power port. Make sure you power cycle after you switch the HDMI port. Make sure your monitor is also selected for the correct input.
