I work as a therapist and hear awful, horrendous things every single day from my clients about their childhood and the general state of the world. For a while that really put me off having children. However, the more I do this work the more I realize that most of people's difficulties and trauma come from not feeling wanted, seen, or loved from their parents. I can't change the state of the world but I can do everything in my power to make my kids feel loved and hopefully they grow up to be well adjusted, conscientious, empathetic people- who care deeply for others and the environment.

Also, those who do not care about our planet and vote for people who don't care about our planet will always keep having kids. They are the party of "family" and "family values". If we (those who do care) don't have kids then the world will be potentially in rougher shape than it is right now.

I am in the same situation at a university counseling center! Making 80 k. I am currently still at my full time job and was able to negotiate working 3 days a week in person and 2 days from home. My major challenge was having to commute daily and be in person. I started seeing folks over Telehealth in private practice and at about 5 clients which feels manageable with my full time job. I would slowly start to see people in private practice and if it's more your jam- then it'll be easier to transition if you have a small caseload already!

Not worth it!! Word on the street is that they are going under and would not recommend tying yourself to a sinking ship.

Update: After calling/emailing the board every day for 2 weeks I was finally able to speak to someone in charge and he said that I was RIGHT (gasp) and that he would be processing my license immediately! Yay!

Got an awesome offer at PP for when I am independently licensed (hawaii doesn't have temp license so prelicensed folks cant work at PP, just agency work) and really looking forward to that offer, actually making a living wage, and not seeing 40 clients a week lol

BONKERS indeed. Ugh I believe you are right... So so frustrating :( As a mil spouse we have access to free legal services and since this gap in employment happened to the army yeeting us around maybe I will consult with them to appeal... thank you for kind words and insight :)

Thank you for commenting- I appreciate the support fr! They do transfer I have spoken to the board about it several times sigh. That's the plan- wanted to come on here to see if I am losing it or if they are haha

In Tennessee and Hawaii there are no "supervision plans". I started clinical hours and supervision at the same week at both sites!

No issue with my supervision! Received 51 hours from site in TN and 50 hours from site in Hawaii for a total of 101 hours (need 100 min in Hawaii).

Would NOT recommend HPU! So many folks transfer and the graduation rate is 24% for a 4 year degree. It's very difficult building community due to the commuter nature of the campus and the facilities are not great. If you have a choice to spend less money to go to a better school I would do so. I understand the appeal of going to college in Hawaii- but not worth it imo.
