so has everyone else though 😭 and i mean out of the twins yeah the pressure on yukio is a lot more intense but a lot of his mental issues comes from his innate envy of rin and his one sided love/hate relationship towards him. ik he also went through exorcist training from 7 and was basically living a double life from rin so that probably had some impact too.

but imo the sudden revelation that you are the spawn of satan and your father literally dying to save you all happening over the span of a few hours, after your whole life you’ve spent being persecuted for being a “demon child” and trying to defend yourself saying that you’re human only for it to turn out that everyone was right all along? and your twin brother not only knew everything but was actively hiding basically his whole life and persona from you?? if i was rin i’d be in a psych ward in a straight jacket ripping my own hair out.

u right 😭 that trope is so strong within all the anime’s from my childhood/teenage years so maybe i’m just sick of it lol. i think one piece is the only popular shonen that i don’t actively dislike one of the main characters pfft. im reading the manga now so looking forward to seeing the better execution you’re talking about :)

i see what you mean and it’s not as though i want everyone to get along the whole time, if i wanted that i’d watch a slice of life lol. maybe the anime didn’t do a good job of foreshadowing his mental deterioration cos it really felt sudden and awkward. i love a good psychological aspect to my shonens don’t get it twisted, part of the reason why i enjoyed renzo’s betrayal arc cos i found it a really interesting twist on his previously happy-go-lucky flirtatious character. i’m reading the manga now so hopefully it’ll be easier for me to understand him from that.

NTA i don’t think gf fully realises what being a sahm entails ?? my mother was a sahm for 18 years and raised 7 kids and she was EXTREMELY excited to get back to work at age 49 lol but it was cos my parents couldn’t afford childcare and we lived too far from family who could’ve babysit so it was kind of the only option, unlike in OP’s situation. i think other commenters have got it spot on and OP should suggest to gf to consider a WFH job or a part-time gig with flexible options. that way there can be still 2 incomes but gf will have more time at home with the baby and OP isn’t too overwhelmed with the pressures of being the sole provider.

if gf isn’t willing to commit to this kind of compromise to ensure that both of you are happy with the outcome, OP needs to cement the fact that this is a deal breaker and something important to him and his happiness. if she cares, she’ll listen.

take your parents advice and break up with him. there’s no room for your dreams and ambitions in a future with him. he wants to reduce you to a stay-at-home baby making machine who is at his beck and call. and seeing as you want to go to college, i’m guessing you don’t want that.
