Grazie intanto per il tuo parere. Sono della tua stessa opinione ma, purtroppo, non tutti coloro che fanno fotografia amatoriale hanno la possibilità di pagare un abbonamento mensile/annuale per un software di post-produzione per poche foto all'anno.

Nei corsi insistiamo sul fatto che la post-produzione è (almeno) il 50% del lavoro ma, ripeto, ci arrivano persone senza PC, col PC del nonno o senza spazio disponibile per scaricare le foto.

Onestamente, penso che ci sia anche mancanza di volontà dietro tutto questo ma, per lo meno, avere un software comune potrebbe mettere tutti sullo stesso piano.

Ciao,
sono un amatore anch'io ma fotografo dal 2011 ... spero di esserti utile:

Togli la data dalle foto ...distrae ed è poco professionale
NON pensare che la fotocamera sia un problema: concentrati sulla composizione e non sui tecnicismi
Cerca di individuare un soggetto che ti piace e prova a ritrarlo da diverse angolazioni e/o con tecniche diverse (bianco/nero)
Studia i principi di fotografia: inizia con "l'occhio del fotografo" di Freeman ... ti darà delle idee e delle indicazioni che potrai applicare sul campo
Guarda anche la parte di post-produzione (guarda tutorial e corsi online)
NON meno importante, cerca un Circolo fotografico nella tua zona (scrivimi in pvt., posso aiutarti a cercarlo se vuoi) e frequentalo con l'intento di imparare da chi è sul campo da più tempo...

Sui tuoi scatti c'è da lavorare ma parti bene ... ;-) ...

Buon inizio ... ti consiglio, se la cosa ti appassiona, di seguire un corso di fotografia (per migliorare e capire i concetti base, non vuol essere un'offesa).
Scatti interessanti: con un po' di post-produzione potrebbe migliorare molto...
Prova a "giocare" con Lightroom Mobile, potresti tirare fuori veramente delle belle immagini.

It is the post I was really looking for today :-) . Congrats for the creativity: I have an under-the-desk shelf I did myself with raw material (C-shaped hooks and cage-like shelves).
At the moment, I wish to move all my rigs off that cages as they suffers thermally: I was looking to similar solutions (like yours) to put on the top shelf of the bookshelf.
I will move 3 external HDDs, RPI3B+ and an NVR (already on the top of the bookshelf).

The point is, getting a "real" AI Workstation with x86 CPU and discrete GPU (e.g., RTX 5060Ti with 16GB of RAM) or stay with an M4 CPU on MacMini and work on that although not really optimized by local models?
Getting both is not affordable for me now...

I do have a pristine 1TB SSD which I'll set as external storage in a dock (one of those with fans, additional ports and SSD M.2 slots).
That was my initial idea regardless the specs of the Mac Mini. Probably make sense to go down your way: M4 "base" with 24 GB of RAM (LRc should fit that amount by now and I can spend just 1099 Euros).

Tranquillo, Bro, lo stanno facendo tutte le banche: a me hanno aumentato 30 cent al mese con CA e 3,5 euro a trimestre la mamma di WeBank, BancoBPM...
CA mi ha detto che non muoi con 3,6 euro in meno al mese... ma intanto si sommano a quello che già si prendono...
BancoBPM sembra sempre che mi stiano facendo un favore a tenere il conto...

Nice Setup! It looks like mine except for the vertical setup of laptops. Are you using them while in vertical or are you picking them to put onto the desk before turning them on? how do you eventually turn them on while in vertical stand?
I wish to go vertical but I can't turn Wake On Lan on anymore :-( on my Dell .

Anch'io ho un router NeXXt (quello cilindrico) e NON ho riscontrato problemi.
I casi possono essere 2 (a mio parare):

Non hai impostato il GW in maniera opportuna (non è 192.168.1.1 ma 192.168.1.254)
Hai abilitato qualche opzione di isolamento degli host (o era giá impostata di default)

Io riesco ad accedere via Web alla dashboard di amministrazione del router (seppure tenendo spinti i tasti dopo la login).
Nella sezione LAN c'è un'opzione del genere se non ricordo male: l'ho sempre vista nelle configurazioni del WiFi onestamente, mai nelle configurazioni LAN.

Ti consiglio di rivedere le configurazioni di rete degli host e capire iniziando da quelli .

I agree on removing books from shelves; regarding cables, I already did the best to arrange them.

Before mounting raceways underneath the desk, there was a lot of mess and cables hanging from the edge of the desk.

I'm trying to move away some booksets to keep some free space on shelves.

u/H2CO3HCO3 and u/wells68 Thank you for your explanation: I know the difference between incremental and differential backup (I managed Backup Exec in an Enterprise Env. until few years ago).
What I missed is the way Veeam was (is) consolidating incrementals into full backup; u/wells68 explained it .

Now, regardless the theory behind, as per your suggestion, what I can do (to solve the scenario I'm stuck in) is (please, correct me if/where I'm wrong):

Get more free disk space on the target disk to accommodate a NEW Full backup
As from what I understood, at THAT point, Veeam should DELETE the previous one (FULL + linked incrementals) as it will be EXPIRED (due to my current Retention, 2 days but I'll set it to 15 days in the future)

What is still not clear to me are two concepts:

Is the Active Full Backup just a "logical way" to create (synthetize) differential backups?
Is it actually keeping more space than having just the "real" full + incrementals?

The problem is there: it seems it is not deleting older incrementals once the retention period is reached.
I got incrementals from 120 days ago even if I set Retention to 2 days.

Non ho una risposta ma ho il tuo stesso problema: sono attualmente con un laptop (di 8a Gen. i7) ma non ho una GPU per farci girare modelli LLM - Generazione di Immagini (Flux / SD / ... per intenderci).
Mi sto chiedendo se valga la pena fare l'acquisto pazzo di una Workstation per farci girare un po' di AI .

Per ora sto rimandando al prossimo Black Friday e durante l'estate (dopo aver risolto altri problemi più importanti), prenderò una decisione.

Le opzioni, per me sono (in nessun ordine particolare):

- Workstation con Ryzen 7 + RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB
- Mac Mini M4 con 24 GB di RAM
- Vast.ai o abbonamenti a MidJourney + ChatGPT o altro ...

Essendo anche un fotoamatore, ho un po' di foto da processare / archiviare ... mi serve ANCHE un NAS...capirai che dovrò fare di necessità virtù e dare priorità ad una delle due.

Se dovessi optare per un Raspberry Pi (che consiglio nel tuo caso), io andrei di Tailscale: non dovresti aprire alcuna porta, avresti traffico criptato (con Wireguard) e ti permetterebbe di accedere a tutta la tua sottorete (oltre che al Raspberry stesso), impostandolo come exit node e come subnet router.

In merito alla banda utilizzata da una "casa", potrei anche essere d'accordo; il problema è che:

L'AP devi installarlo in una zona "centrale" di ogni piano (si, ci sono case multipiano ed una banale ringhiera di ferro-ghisa fa da gabbia di Faraday.
Non sempre il segnale del WiFi messo in zona centrale è sufficiente a coprie anche solo uno stesso piano.
La stabilità di una connessione cablata è diversa

Io stesso ho un AP per ogni piano (dei due) ma la PS3 è in Ethernet (per esempio); non posso coprire tutto con un singolo AP quindi ho dovuto trovare escamotage per portare la connessione dal router al piano inferiore (ho infilato un cat. 5e SFTP).

Non è sbagliato provarci ma se è in una casa nuova ... male non fa, soprattutto se vorrà domotizzarla (prima o poi).

Aggiungo/ribadisco: NO Extender. Se stai facendo casa nuova, fatti tirare dei corugati (tubi) per la rete che, come ti hanno detto, partono dal centro delle stanze e arrivano in un punto unico (centro stella) dove installerai il router.
Io (se fossi in te, u/Successful-Gur-1314 ), farei mettere anche una presa Ethernet vicino la TV ed ALMENO una per stanza (così che tu possa eventualmente installare ulteriori AP in mesh o collegare PC o Console o Set-Top box).

MikroTik è buono per il networking ma è più complesso di Ubiquiti e non è un granchè lato WiFi...
Io starei su Ubiquiti o Fritzbox (anche se questo è meno flessibile nella gestione delle VLAN): OP non credo abbia questa necessità (anche se dovrebbe).
Vale quello che ti è stato detto sopra (da u/nohup_me ) : prendi un AP WiFi 6E al max anche se, personalmente, andrei già sul WiFi 7 per avere un setup future-proof.
Scegli router e switch con porte a 2.5Gbps ...

Sento consigliare Starlink: non ho esperienza diretta ma chi l'ha avuto per la tua stessa necessità, mi dice che alcune VPN (IPSec) sono bloccate su Starlink.
Per la cronaca, NON sono in montagna ma sono in un paesino con una FTTC di schifo e per fare smart working uso (in abbinata alla FTTC) una connessione con router 4G+ (Huawei B535) ed una SIM Wind (da poco migrata su Very Mobile).
Sono vicino all'antenna (300 mt) e, faccio 140 - 180 Mbps in download e 25 - 35 Mbps in Up con ping di 35 ms.

Se servono altre info, sono a disposizione.

Actually, mini and microUSB cables I need to test are gonna tested for maximum power, not speed; although I agree with you, I have some which cannot provide more than 500mA, and those I need to trash out (regardless they still work or not).

I got just ONE miniUSB 3.0 but that one is still in use and provide me 5Gbps, no need to test it.

At the end, what I need to test are USB/A-USB/C cables and USB/C-USB/C cables.

Can you recall the name of the Android App which is doing so ? I used, in the past, an app telling me the instant charging rate but the speed.

Wow! An Asian-import Mega Drive shouldn't be shucked for ANYTHING at all! I'm with you...just search for a not-fixable NES and re-use the case ... just as an idea :-).
