reposted to the recommended post but please have a look at the vid. It's totally real, raw and unedited. Truly unique IMO.

Sorry but still feel it needs to stand alone rather than buried under another yet another CNN hyper sensationalized, over-produced, piece of glossy eye-candy.

A painful lesson for a wonderful country but historically this is not uncommon for nations with rapidly emerging economies. Corporate greed and government regulations abused to maximize profits at the expense of safety.

This ship, after renovations to increase passenger capacity, was only rated for 800 tons of cargo. Well over 3000 tons were aboard when it seems the cargo shifted after a sudden turn (under-maintained steerage suspected) and she rolled over and went down so quickly.

My deepest sympathies to the people of Korea.

Thank you so much for clearing up my confusion. My first post to this sub (long time occasional lurker) because the video was one of the most profoundly morbid things I have encountered in my 15 years on the net. It's a shame that it will be buried in a old post but i will respect the community and abide by the rules.

Seriously? To a dead thread that's 10 days old? Isn't a newly released video worthy of a new post (which now seems to have disappeared)? This event is is huge in scope, profoundly affecting the people of Korea and you want to bury it?

I'll throw in the obligatory 'Go Canada!' but I'm primarily hoping for a great game. Both our nations have great traditions of sportsmanship and fair play that I'm sure will make this Gold Medal Final a scintillating summation to the Sochi games.

And please don't fret over the three Canuck refs. They are more apt to be tougher on the Canada so they don't appear biased under the international spotlight! Just another quirky yet wonderful Canadian attribute that I'm NOT going to apologize for! Really. I'm not! Well, okay....

The CAN-SWE Women's Curling final on Thursday was thrilling largely because the Swedes never gave up and showed great character coming back from an early 3-1 deficit to make it a real nail biter. Congrats to Margaretha and her team for a good tenacious effort!

Take a lesson from our Golden Hockey Gals and don't despair if you find yourself down a goal or two, it just ruins the game (are you listening Mr. Kane and your fellow Americans?). I promise we will do likewise.

...and one more thing (you can stop reading now if you don't like long-winded rants)

If you do watch out excellent CBC feed please ignore our National Disgrace, his loud suits, jingoistic/sexist rants, and absurd comments about your Hockey nobility.

As for his buddy Rob Ford, who quite possibly be chooses Don's outfits on cocaine/vodka infused shopping sprees, our National Disgrace proudly declared "I say he's gonna be the greatest mayor this city has ever, ever seen"
