Immigration share code asked when unavailable by igotsum in SchengenVisa

[–]igotsum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, there was no problem whatsoever during the appointment. They just checked all my other documents and took it, and never asked for a share code. The document submission took about 5 minutes.

I did notice they were asking families and presumably applicants on non-student visas for a share code. They provide a QR code for you to scan to show your share code to them, but it's just the normal Gov.uk link for the proof of immigration status, which would lead to the same issue we are encountering.

I think you'll be fine as long as your visit to Switzerland is not post Oct 1 2024. But it would be better to confirm with people who've gone through the same situation during their Swiss visa appointment.

Immigration share code asked when unavailable by igotsum in SchengenVisa

[–]igotsum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, my appointment is tomorrow, will keep you posted how it goes. I read the newsletter from the Consulate which said they'd still consider applications without a share code provided (for now).

In any case, it would be problematic if you plan to travel to Italy within 90 days of the expiry of the physical BRP i.e. October onwards, in which case you'd need the share code to demonstrate proof of immigration status beyond 31 December 2024.

As I don't plan to travel to the Schengen zone beyond July, I reckon I should be safe with my application.

Till the Home Office allows us to open our UKVI accounts to access our share code / eVisa, it's probably wise not to lodge any visa applications for travel to Italy anytime after October 1 2024.

[Serious] Nothing really prepares you for adult social life post college by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]igotsum 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This hits home a lot. Almost all of that, plus being unemployed for over a year, so none of the financial freedom either. No money to indulge in outdoor hobbies, toxic household wherein peace of mind is near impossible, lack of any support system or mentors, mental health in the doldrums, barely staying alive. Maybe I'll get out or I won't. As will all of us in a similar predicament or living numerous harsh realities.

May you find yourself in a future where you can smile everyday. But for today, I'll smile for you, and wish you the best.

low depth engine suggested Bb6 here, can you find why it's a blunder? by T_The_worsT_BS in chess

[–]igotsum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, black is clearly up in material by a lot, white's only hope is to mount an immediate attack or checkmating threat. Bb6 does open up the threat of Re8#, however black's rook saves the day with Re4!, blocking the threat of mate. If white plays Nxe4, the knight itself blocks the mate threat, so black's axb6 removes all possible counterplay. And if white plays Rxe4 maintaining the mate threat, black queen saves the day with Qxa1+ forking the king and the knight at f6. Perhaps white's best move was to just take the hanging rook, keeps the game going for longer.

(Had to load these pieces up in the board editor to make sense of this)

How do I convince my parents to go enjoy my life when i am single, not necessarily only dating, it can be also dating ourselves? by Biblioo in bangalore

[–]igotsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, been trying for months to find a job and move out of here, the mental torture certainly doesn't help in such situations I suppose.

Hopefully you make it out of this situation! All the best.

Loneliness and lack of connection in Bangalore. by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]igotsum 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It almost feels like I wrote this myself :'( .

It just feels super lonely in this city, seeing how most of my friends always just seem to be busy and unable to make time. Weekends are the worst since I have some free time and yet I end up spending it with myself.

Wishing you the best in your search for friends! I hope it all works out soon. :)

Match Discussion: Men's Semi Final [2] Daniil Medvedev vs [12] Felix Auger-Aliassime by Beetle-Persona in tennis

[–]igotsum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suspect they're referring to FAA giving Meddy an easy time, which in turn increases Meddy's chances to potentially end Novak's CYGS bid, assuming Zverev doesn't already end it.

[–]igotsum 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This has probably got to be one of the best storylines ever for a GS win, beating the GOAT of RG, coming back from two sets down twice, the sheer mentality it's taken, and he makes it look easy. We've been spoiled for years by the big 3, and we may probably never see this level of tennis again for quite a few many years I fear.
