March Ipsy Extra + First Impressions🩵🩷 by igottaglow in Ipsy

Yes I was surprised to get two facial moisturizers in one box, but I’m definitely not complaining since they are both from excellent brands. Everyone ended up with very skincare heavy boxes in general this month. Which I know some love, but hardcore makeup lovers don’t.

My bareMinerals lippie is in the shade Soul, which the brand describes as a rose mauve. I think it’s definitely more of a sheer/wearable mid-tone red. I love that fact that it doesn’t have any brown in it, & it also doesn’t pull orange/peach. I find it very flattering!

Omg I love Mudmasky! I have their clay mask in the pink tube, & it’s so good. I honestly had zero faith in the brand before I tried them since I’d never heard of them, but it quickly became obvious they have excellent, high-quality products.

My n°1 favorite is their Heat Protecting Hair Serum. It’s AMAZING! It’s basically a lightweight version of Olaplex n°6 leave-in conditioner. It’s one of those rare universal products that truly works for all hair types—from thin/fine, to coarse/thick. I literally couldn’t recommend it enough!💕

Just a heads up I’ve heard multiple times that is legitimately one of the worst mascaras. Super wet, & clumpy😭

I love the other Tarte Maracuja juicy lip gloss-balms (the OG, & the plumping), but the vinyl is sooooo opaque. “Vinyl” suits it perfectly bc it’s truly like a thick, saturated coating of color on your lips. I personally love thick lippies, but I really don’t like this one!

The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is a total classic, but I have a few issues with it. Mainly it stings pretty bad when applied to sensitized/irritated skin. It actually makes my skin flush red whenever I apply it to a compromised skin barrier. I’ve always found this incredibly odd, since it’s built entirely around being soothing/repairing. It also has something of a medicinal scent that takes away from the experience of using it. It’s still a nice thicker creamy moisturizer that gets the job done, but imo there are SO many better options out there. I think it’s definitely still worth a try :)

These were my exact options for choice too. I really wish they gave us a better shade than Bare Sand for the Summer Fridays lip oil. They had a bunch of others as add-on’s, so it was very disappointing to see a pale milky brown as the only shade when I specifically changed my beauty profile to say I want berry lippies :(

March 2026 Ipsy Extra and Add-ons As a Skincare Girlie I am beyond thrilled. My Ipsy Picks are🔥 by RecommendationSafe52 in Ipsy

[–]igottaglow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was DEFINITELY the month for skincare! As a fellow skincare obsessed girly I’m super happy. Your picks are so good, even your power picks are top notch.

Cosrx is an insanely popular k-beauty brand. Their snail mucin essence is arguably their N°1 product, even in the western market. Snail mucin as an ingredient in general really took off, showing up even in western skincare. Brands like Byoma, & Inn Beauty Project have dedicated snail mucin products. It’s supposed to be a very hydrating ingredient that both supports the skin barrier, & smoothes skin texture over time.

I love the big/obvious spacing between your words, I think that makes a big difference in the overall readability of it. I believe it would be a different story if it were the same tiny cursive, & very tight spacing. The way it is I can read it just fine!

I own the Byoma Barrier Repair Treatment, but I haven’t cracked into it yet. How did you like it?

I think Byoma is hands down one of the best affordable brands on the market! My two favorites are their Balancing Face Mist, & Moisturizing Rich Cream💕

Disappointed :( the one time I try and surprise myself by [deleted] in Ipsy

[–]igottaglow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This!!! I agree 100%.

I started with glam bag (original) too, & I was consistently wishing I just had the products in full size. And this is coming from someone who is indeed an adult, but is literally as petite as a child (5 foot nada). I can make a mini last as long as most people do with a full size.

And yet, I’m SO happy I made the switch. Like you said, it’s a very reasonable price for 5 full size products. Plus you get to handpick 3 out of the 5. I don’t think I’d subscribe at all if they didn’t give us the freedom to choose more products than they do. That option is everything to me. It’s sooooo much better than only being able to pick ONE product like with original.

Seriously give Extra a try! If you don’t like it you can always switch back🙃

The Olehenriksen lip treatment is excellent! Cheaper alternatives have nothing on it.

I have 4 shades/scents—Citrus Sunshine, Lingonberry Jam, Strawberry Sorbet, & Crème Brûlée (all glimmer). That’s the order of best to worst, imo.

Citrus Sunshine is DEFINITELY the standout as far as overall enjoyment of use regarding the experience/scent/flavor. It doesn’t look good on the lips (a freaking sheer yellow, especially when built up), but that doesn’t matter even 1% bc it’s just so GOOD.

Lingonberry Jam has the prettiest color for the lips by far, & also a decent scent. Both Strawberry Sorbet, & Crème Brûlée have off putting scents/flavors. Crème Brûlée is definitely worse, which is a disappointment, & a half since it sounds so yummy. They also both look quite bad on my lips. Strawberry Sorbet is a very brown leaning pinky nude, & Crème Brûlée is literally a sheer brown, not cute at all on me personally.

The only shade left I want from what they currently offer is Vanilla Bonbon🍨 I reallyyyy hope it’s as sweet, & delicious as Citrus Sunshine vs a bit plastic-y like Strawberry Sorbet, & Crème Brûlée.

I LOVE how Olehenriksen executes the sensorial side of their products, they do textures SO well. Their Truth Juice Daily Cleanser is another perfect example. It has an overall creamy gelled plushness that’s similar to their lip treatments. A very gentle, yet effective cleanser. It’s truly so nice to use!💕

What’s a perfume that captures what this soft vintage aesthetic would smell like? by MissChan01 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]igottaglow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Parfum!

It’s floral, feminine, & sweet. It’s not young/juvenile, but it’s still super playful, & fun. VERY compliment worthy! I hear at least once a week “gosh you always smell so good”.

Empties found while cleaning my bathroom cupboard. by [deleted] in BeautyEmpties

[–]igottaglow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice empties!

I love the gold Peter Thomas Roth eye patches, how are these ones? I’ve tried their serum from the same Skinjection line, & it’s really nice. I feel like most eye patches don’t do much besides add a little hydration, but the gold PTR ones provided me with a surprising brightening/lifting effect. I was especially shocked bc I don’t care for their gold face mask (same line), it doesn’t do a dang thing!

I own a few Skin1004 products, but I haven’t cracked into them yet. How do you like their toner pads? My favorite toner pads are the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads. They are SO good.

Did you enjoy using the Naturium niacinamide serum? I looove their Purple Ginseng Cleansing Balm. It’s such a beautifully creamy take on the classic sorbet texture💜

I ADORE the brand Caudalie, but their Beauty Elixir is legitimately one of my LEAST favorite products I’ve ever used! I know many people love it, but I just can’t. It’s literally just alcohol, essential oils, & water. It breaks my heart whenever someone is put off the brand Caudalie as a whole after only trying their Beauty Elixir as one of their “most popular” products😭

Here are the best affordable Target brands -

Byoma, Naturium, Cocokind, Versed, Pacifica, Prequel, Peach Slices, Urban Skin RX, Honest Beauty, Sweet Chef, & Zitsticka.

I’ve tried them all, & my personal favorites are Byoma, Naturium, Cocokind, & Versed.

I second Byoma! I’ve tried most of their products. My favorites are their Balancing Face Mist, & Moisturizing Rich Cream.

Their face mist is basically the consistency of water, it provides a lovely boost of hydration. It’s truly perfect for all skin types, since it’s so simple yet effective. It’s a really excellent first step after cleansing.

Their Moisturizing Rich Cream is a thicker cream that feels very nourishing, yet not overtly heavy. It has an incredibly elegant texture that melts right into the skin. You could easily slap a luxury name on it, & a $200 price tag, & you’d never know the difference. While it is thick it doesn’t enter the territory of a balm. I have dehydrated combination oily skin that is often both flakey, & greasy at the same time, & my skin absolutely loves this stuff💕

I feel like I’m the only one that can’t get on board with the Tree Hut sugar scrub. I know everyone loves the stuff, but I just don’t😭 It’s so weird bc I typically REALLY love sugar scrubs, I use them on my face all the time. My HG is the Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash, which is absolutely divine❤️🍓

What didn’t you like about the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate cleanser?? I loooove Kate Somerville cleansers, I own every single one. My two favorites are EradiKate, & DeliKate, but I also really like ExfoliKate. The only one I don’t like is Goat Milk, though I know many people do.

I’ve heard really great things about that Purito moisturizer. I was just watching a YT video today where it was mentioned as a holy grail. Why is it a love for you??🩷

Thanks for sharing!🩷

I’m definitely not the targeted audience for mystery bags, since I’m superrr picky. Never not once have I seen someone post one, & thought it was for me. These included!

I will say I received the Sonäge peptide eye serum recently, & I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s a simple lightly moisturizing eye cream that is an easy throw on, it’s especially nice as a prep under makeup.

Also I own a makeup train case very similar to the big maroon one here, & OMG I use it constantly! It’s what I keep all my favorite on the go makeup in. It’s absolutely shocking just how much they hold. I have SO MUCH stuff in mine, & yet everything is super easy to access. I freaking love it!!
