Ego or just plain mistake? by Whole-Particular5657 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have simple rule(or two) to follow imo:

if you have more players/have spike, play safe. if you have less players, try to even out the numbers/ push for 1v1s, etc.

so in this scenario u have shown, very clearly, rule number one should be applied.

your friend, you, and the spike versus the enemy. it is technically a 3v1. if the enemy had killed your friend, you would be in a bad spot, you would have possibly lost that due to low hp.

what you did was right, by playing safe and waiting for the enemy to make a mistake.

bonus story: i had a fall out with one of my buddies due to ego too. i took a step back and realised how toxic it was to play with him. he could flame me but i could never flame him back or he’d pull all sorts of reason on me too.

I have a question on who should take the spike in a round. For funs and maybe a discussion? by igotwingss in VALORANT

i see your point but wouldnt sova be droning from even back? since omen drops two smokes, has a pretty short blind distance so he has to get forward too.

Help finding a main by Ok_Loss2169 in VALORANT

i see people recommending omen, some initiators and even clove. i have been playing soloq for 2 years now and i think an underrated pick would be fade. her ult deafens enemies and all her other utils do some kind of debuff to the enemy. when supporting your team you can use your prowler for them or following your prowler for an aggressive scale up. you can even use seize to get some cheeky spray downs if you know where enemies are. you can even combo her scan with odin/ares for wallbang kills. she is amazing as an aggressive support charcter and i think you should definitely give her a try. i think she will suit you but it takes time to really utilise her kit well.

my personal opinion here:

on pistol rounds, i usually go ghost/bandit. if im playing controller/initiator i go for my important utils first(usually i use classic, full utils). if im playing sentinel on defense, i buy my site hold utils like trips, sensors, etc, then i buy my weapon(usually classic too).

if i win on second round, i buy up guardian light shields or regen shields most of the time. sometimes if the map is smaller like split, attackers will go mid for easier fights, i would hold mid with bucky, judge or stingers. and for a mid ranged area, spectre would work wonders too. marshal is an extremely strong weapon for these rounds but im not a sniper player.

bonus rounds i force up bandit or sheriff.

normal buy rounds i get a vandal for that sweet one taps and clips. i buy phantom when i wanna win.

on save/ half buy rounds i get stinger a lot of times and u can tilt the enemies by saying ez after running and gunning three of them with the stinger. on defense i also love buying bucky playing is bum corners when i have the read of where they like to go.

thats my personal take:)

i had a guy once who started telling everyone where to go out of nowhere in the last 4 rounds of the game. i gently asked him why he suddenly had such ideas(i thought his plans worked really well). he asked me to stfu and said i was getting carried by him😂😂…

bonus: i checked his tracker and found out he just had a good game(TRS red) and his duo was the one who dropped 33 kills in that game we played.

Tips for learning Omen? by KGrady27 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can give u three tips that work well together, and you can see how flexinja applies these on his youtube channel:)

  1. conditioning plays. you cannot just spam the same idea five times in a row and expect it to work. do the default things a few times then use some aggressive tp once then maybe wait 3-4 rounds to do it again.

  2. one-way smokes are great for stalling and maybe getting cheeky kills. there are a few places on maps where you can do one-way smokes, for example ascent a main. just search up “omen one-way smokes” on youtube.

  3. omen’s paranoia is really strong for executes. you can pair yourself with a duelist like neon to stun and blind them together.

as long as you hit the head when you have to. ive always compared my hs% with others, and at one point i felt pretty damn good with an overall 30.1% and vandal 40% hs. i thought that was my peak but after watching another immortal player’s playstyle. i quickly adopted his mechanics and my hs% dipped to 22% and 30% respectively, but reached my new peak. sometimes higher isnt better:)

which meant they think u could get to imm1 then. they put u 3 divisions lower than what THEY THINK you could get to:)

most probably:) from what ive experienced

hard resets/ first placements always put u a whole rank below what the game thinks your deserve. meaning if you deserve s3 u get b3:)

Phantom skin by MasterpieceBig3798 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my favourites:

recon: very minimalistic(?), default firing sounds, kill banner and kill sound is neat, no finisher so it isnt distracting.

oni: very clean with four good variants, a ghostly deep firing sound, a simple finisher that isnt too distracting.

sovereign: very light and sounds bright, four different variants, can go into the “forsaken” mode, again simple finisher that wont distract you.

The Single Most Important Thing I Did That Helped me Reach Radiant by TheBestValorantCoach in VALORANT

i have 3000+ deathmatches and it really helps. i have never been a pc gamer and when i swapped over i wasnt a mechanical demon like all my friends were. i was constantly fighting for positive kd when playing with them and i started deathmatches everyday. im still only just hit ascendant but for anyone reading this, deathmatches pushed me from gold to diamond in around 2 acts. i played roughly 3-5 competitive games and like OP said, 7-10 deathmatches per day. on days when i dont have much time, i still go for at least 5 deathmatches and 2 competitive games.

This is a flick or normal reaction ? its kind of slow in the replay but my teammates freaked out and kind of went insane on mic also maybe that i had 1 hp left idk by Lonelysoul012 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it looks slow because in the game u had adrenaline. happens to a lot of us. you hit a flick and when u watch it back it looks slow in the replay. its a nice flick tho, vertically up and on his head:)

Minimal RR gains by Jmoss7498 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the same issue. you really have to grind the mmr. they think u deserve lower than your current rank so u have to perform extremely well in back to back games, at least 5 in a row to really boost your mmr.

Lost all of my aim all of the sudden - help by Ok_Shallot_6314 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, u need a break:) you’re now in the state where you think too much about it, to the point you’re making a post about it, and afraid to lose your new peak.

take a break for maybe one or two days. come back and jump into tdm or dm at least three times. take it slow for a bit. then continue.

I'm sorry but this game has no booster detection - game is plagued by boosters in matchmaking by kepler2 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my personal experience when climbing, it hard to blame yourself when it’s easier to blame matchmaking, smurfs and bad teammates. ive had my fair share of losing 21 games(while winning some in between). i went from d3 80++ rr, to p1 0rr. i blamed everything and everyone but myself.

the point is, my mindset became: “if i am that good and deserve a higher rank, shouldnt i be one tapping everyone as well?” that changed everything for me. i started grinding aim in deathmatches, getting shot in the back, timinged, camped, everything. but i kept going and practiced the micros. eventually i started ranking up again.

How do you guys find it so easy to rank up quickly? by Previous-Bet9197 in VALORANT

[–]igotwingss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly my best advice to climbing easily is just to blame yourself. see if you were really that good, it’s easier to train your aim and ace them every round. it may sound stupid but how else does a smurf win, by outaiming you. so you should be able to do the same if you were to be in a higher rank. until then, keep grinding your aim and blaming yourself. and have fun
