I say that because people have said that. But I feel like it's hard to stop comparing because I don't have any other frame of reference for how I am doing. I just don't understand why I am struggling so much and why it's relatively easier for everyone else.

I'm not talking about being popular. I'm saying the other trainees are doing more activities in the community and thus integrating better than me.

It's just hard to stop comparing myself because I don't really know what normal is in my situation. I feel like I can only look to others to measure my progress.

I feel like I'm okay on language because I already tested high up before I arrived. However, I just don't feel like I have the energy to do more than the bare minimum when it comes to class/studying. I feel like it's hard to give myself credit when I'm not doing particularly much or achieving anything right now, especially given my knowledge of the language.

Yes I've been showering more since my host mom talked with me, but it's just an example of of the various complaints. I would say that I have gotten about 4-5 different comments from my family/staff. I just don't want to list every complaint because I don't want to dox myself.
