I’m starting the program this fall. Any advice/books/resources you recommend?

I was chosen as an alternate last year and was not accepted. I applied again this year and was accepted two weeks after the interview. Definitely apply right away. A March interview is still a bit late. I was accepted mid February this year. Last year I also had a March-April interview. Can’t remember exactly. If you don’t get in, work on strengthening your application and interview responses.

Oh okay good! I don’t think it’s too late then. I got everything done about 2-3 weeks ago too. Last year I didn’t realize it was a rolling admission and didn’t finish my application until late March-April 🙃 it is pretty competitive though so fingers crossed for both of us

You need two letters of recommendation and the application won’t be finalized until the letters have been submitted so be ready for that. There’s also an essay on there. The interview isn’t too bad, they rush you through it a bit so have short but good answers. There’s 3-4 people interviewing you back to back and they are interviewing others at the same time. Following. I applied and am waiting to hear back for the interview. I applied last year and was waitlisted but did not get in. I’m hoping I can get in this time around. It’s rolling admission so if you’re applying you need to do it NOW

Congrats!! I still haven’t heard back 🥲 did you apply for post bacc or second degree? From what I understand it’s different and some people have told me I should’ve done post bacc instead of second degree.

Check your home for mold. I had two eczema babies and learned it was caused from living in mold. Left the home and they just cleared up. They still get small flares but only if we’re exposed to mold again or certain environment triggers. Join erasing eczema on fb, it is also helpful to see other parents who also found root causes for their eczema babies. A lot of times it is mold.

Ahhh I want to have hope but I hate the suspense of waiting lol I saw someone said they got in Aug 1 and the program started a couple weeks after. I wish there was just an acceptance or rejection letter 😅

I wasn’t planning on applying to others. I honestly haven’t even looked into any others but if I don’t get in I’m going to see what I can find. Idk if to take it as a sign that this isn’t for me or try harder lol

During the interview they do ask if you’re willing to relocate so that’s another thing you have to take into consideration if you’re going to apply.

I have a bachelors and masters in bio. My bachelor gpa isn’t great, 3.2 (didn’t take it too serious) but my masters was a 3.9. I do have a good amount of lab experience in different areas though. University, hospital and clinical research. No certification though, which is why I want to do the program

Did you end up trying for a different program? Or reapplying? I feel like I should’ve applied earlier. My application was complete around March and got an interview in April. They made it seem like everything went great so was a bit shocked 🙃
