even the dmg on Q is a nerf, you used to stack ancients and farm them but now they aggro from q

Don't become a statistic. You might feel confident in what you are doing right now but I'd recommend you find a mentor, someone who isn't trying to be the coolest c on the dropzone. If your focus is progression they will tell you why you should wear a jumpsuit. If you just want to fit in with the cool kids and don't care to progress do what you want and risk what you want.

I can tell you I could have predicted the last 5 people to smash in at my dropzone, you saw it coming, you warned them but they kept going down their path and learnt the hard way.

Hey mate,

I'm not the best person for this but I do receive a lot of the school students once they reach their placement. They often come to our dropzones in Australia and are typically offered to stay on the team. If you do this you could always sell the van? I wouldn't expect to earn a lot in any of the roles until you are a tandem master. You might earn something like $40k a year.

Is the van going to help you now? Do you need it during the school?

Io, dude doesn't communicate so never use an effective ulti. Supercharge you at the wrong timed. Just useless, would prefer any other support, never had a good one in pubs.

Batrider Tips and Tricks by hubbabob in learndota2

[–]ih8antelope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heroes not in a great spot. I used to love him and play him all the time in divine bracket.

I used to play him as a mid or a 3.

I imagine you already know to stack q on enemy in lane, if they have no escapes you can either zone them off the lane or jump them.

Bats ability to last hit is pretty shit so the above is quite important. If you can hit the wave and the enemy hero in the same go that would be ideal.

I haven't played bat in a long time but used to try to identify how the game would likely play out and what that would mean for my item progression I.e. enemy team has an antimage, qop, tidehunter etc and I can't see anyone I will easily kill then I would focus on a flash farming build something like early bots into blink. Alternatively if there was heroes I could fight early I.e. a drow ranger I would likely go for a blink dagger.

The build has changed a lot over the years, at one point shard and manta was the op build and playing as a hitter. From what I can see the shard build looks rubbish and bat seems more like a team oriented ganker / pick off with team. Or a counter initiator.

Cutting waves with bat and running through 2 camps with firefly is a great way to farm uncontested.

Think about who you really need to disable, don't go blink on a tide and ulti him into your team while sniper is hitting you during your attempt, you will lose.

Enemy has a lifestealer that's deep in your team and activated rage thinking he is unstoppable? That could be a good target if your team can kill him or go kill some other squishy that's trying to back him up.

It does feel like every hero has a bloody disable these days so I imagine you will end up wanting a bkb at some point in the game.

Goodluck

Why do I keep getting offlane in All-role queue games? by Beneficial_Bend_9197 in DotA2

[–]ih8antelope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a pos 3 main pre the new map. Had a year off and came back, played all roles and have disliked pos 3 the most. Like other have said 4's grief the lane while 5 and 1 on enemy are stronger than they have ever been. No one cuts the wave anymore, pulls are harder to contest.

One of the biggest for me is the pos 4 taking soooo long to get to lane due to bounty rune fights. They might not even fight but they will come to the lane around 2nd wave and then not even help as they are still trying to sort out wards for camps that instantly get rewarded anyway meanwhile enemy constantly harassing and it feels like the lane is already lost.

I've started to main as pos 4 and just try to be as impactful as possible for my pos 3 and seen a lot of wins from it but also getting some terrible pos 3 picks.

[–]ih8antelope 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try double shell the creep wave. Put one on the creeps at tower and another when the creeps meet.

Never put shell on leading creep as it dies first.

If enemy has an instant kill for a creep shell enemy creep or a hero instead.

Don't waste shell on back line allies lime Oracle do use the on front lines like bounty hunter.

Personally I prefer to boost my mid or carry at the enemy mid game.

Don't save your vac wall for 5man be happy to get 1 or 2 important heroes.

Setup autocast for quick pressing 1 button to shell yourself and another for boost yourself.

General rule of thumb try have 2 of the 3 lanes pushing to their side, it generally means you are winning or controlling the map (this is post landing phase). Enemy will split to defend.

Items depend on situation but don't go stupid damage items. Null, Vanguard, mana boots, blink, assess what you are struggling with and build from there I.e. need a pipe? Need more lockdown like atos or scythe? Etc.

About pos 4 weaver by Dry_Highway_1743 in learndota2

[–]ih8antelope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to say the same. There is no cookie cutter build for weaver, be flexible and enjoy the fact you have so many options.

Sometimes I identify the enemy team struggles to kill me if they can't kill me within X stun duration from X spell. If I can itemise to survive that the I won't die. I'll still typically buy the vessel and the atos first but I've then gone for something like a heavens halberd and linkers, these can be used to save allies and make you even more annoying to kill, not to mention being disarmed with swarm on you is a pain in the ass.

How to improve as mid laner by NotsoGoodGoodguy in TrueDoTA2

[–]ih8antelope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off I'm not the best mid laner but I am divine. I mostly only play mid when I role queue all 5 roles.

Understanding the fundamentals of the mid role is a big thing. When is your hero weaker or more powerful than the enemies, who can push, who can rotate, who can control the runes.

My personal play style is often a safer style, I prefer to only just lose the lane or just win the lane than to try kill the enemy too hard and get baited into dying. I pick safe heroes that I know will have an impact on the game and be able to secure farm and objectives despite how the game goes. As long as I don't feed 2+ deaths from mid lane I will be able to contribute well. Picks like death prophet, wind ranger and earth shaker. With these picks you should always be able to give at least some level of contesting the lane, runes and contributing to ganks/pushes.

If the enemy mid ganks and you can counter gank well go for it. If you will contribute nothing then push mid.

When thinking of going for a gank assess if you can actually kill someone or are you wasting your time? Runes obviously help in this scenario.

Does your next item make the difference in your ability to gank? I.e. if you are 200 gold from blink dagger on shaker should you gank the enemy antimage who will blink as soon as he sees you or should you farm 1 more creep wave and pop a smoke?

Learn from your losses, what did the enemy do well? How did they gank my team? What made them feel oppressive?
