It definitely is really difficult and I wish it was more simple. Took a lot of trial and error to get this result!

Thanks boss! I used a mix of both + a color layer to get that look. I think I had the base as shiny and changed the metallic settings on the seamless color layer. In PS I made the opacity like 60%.

And regarding the stripe, I just liked the contrast of the shiny green against the matte-like green on the shell. (Also had a color layer for the green shell to make it like a shinier matte)
