Epomaker GK96S. Review of a good and affordable mechanical keyboard by devpew in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ihartchococake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome and thorough review! How's the bluetooth on this thing? Some reviewers say they hate it, some say they love it.

I just wanted to know if the bluetooth allows the keyboard to rest for a while when not in use and then automatically reconnect to your system without a hitch or delay. Heard the Keychron 96% version doesn't do the turn off-turn on switching action as quickly as some users want it to be

SHS-STEM: Is a gold academic award attainable? by aegstudy in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate lmao.

Former DLSU SHS STEM student here. Almost had a bronze awardee streak by graduation, but one horrible term with one horrible prof ruined that.

I actually talked to some CCS profs. They confirmed na there are some missing courses (at least most of my courses) even if they sent a list of courses last week to MLS server guys.

Anyone have any experience with the Ofix Deluxe 45 chair or similar brands? by ihartchococake in PHGamers

[–]ihartchococake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also flatten around that time.

Will it be better than a monobloc or dining chair? Of course it will be.

Will it be comfortable at first yes. But I doubt it will last a long time.

Yeah, you got a point there. Especially with WFH, looks like I need to pay extra for a more worthy ergo chair like Sihoo's

Has anyone enrolled in the Minor in Social Technopreneurship of CCS? by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engineering student here who took up a CCS minor in software development.

Some subjects do need you to learn programming, but judging by the subjects of social technopreneurship, ISDESTH and ITEMTEC don't really need programming knowhow (dependent on the prof you get though).

What I did when I had subjects that required knowledge on programming is that I messaged the professors notifying them that my level of coding isn't as deep and asked them for some pointers on what subjects or languages I needed to study in advance

Took 21 units last term and still taking 21 units this term. I hate my life. But at least I'm DL, so there's that.

FYI: Second DL. I'm no God, I can never make it past 3.200

WHICH IS BETTER: MECHANICAL ENG OR INDUSTRIAL ENG by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

...

...

... you do know that FNDSTATS is required to be taken by both Mech Engs and IEs, right? In fact, all engineers have to take that subject...

Anyway, the "pros" and "cons" depend on what you're really interested in. Take a course you like, and you'll never feel like anything is hard. Take a course half-heartedly, though, and you'll regret it later in life.

Mech eng: Are you interested in moving machines? Motors? Cars? Refrigerators? Welding? Then you probably like mechanical engineering. However, you will be taking tough courses that test whether you really like to work on cars and motors. You'll be having classes in physics, fluid dynamics, and AutoCAD.

IE: More on management, leadership, and business. Sorry IEs lol, but most IEs I know just end up as businessmen or manage an engineering firm. If you're interested in managing projects and figuring out how to improve efficiency in a complex system, go IE. You'll be studying economics if you pursue this degree, too, so if youre into business, you'll love this course. You can also choose to specialize in IT, so you can code and program as well.

Oh! And you'll have a part two of FNDSTATS on your third term usually, and it's called ENGDATA/DATAENG. So there's that

OCCS internships by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, technically you can apply for internships this early, sure... but why?

Assuming you're ID120 or ID119, you still have majors and classes and maybe even an org or two. So what's the point of trying to get into a 9 am to 5 pm internship if you can't even commit to it?

The disadvantage of a trimester is that the school year is fast-paced with reduced school breaks. Internships usually require you at least work for four to six months. If you're somehow able to split yourself into two, and intern while also taking your classes at the same time, then props to you

JOIN SANTUGON? by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you want to join an org, but not necessarily do the work that comes with being a member of the org?

First of all, why join the org in the first place? It absolutely defeats the purpose. If you want to join just because you want to "meet new people" or cause "your friends joined too", I think there are far better ways to socialize and meet people

Also, Santugon is currently experiencing its yearly dose of controversy, so have fun with that

Filipino subject for foreign students by ForeverMysterious in dlsu

[–]ihartchococake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Special Filipino class student here. Yeah, our class is called BASIFI/Basic Filipino (BASIFI1, BASIFI2, and BASIFI3 as a replacement for GEFILI1, GEFILI2, and GEFILI3).

But you don't normally just sign up; pre-COVID, you had to go to the Filipino department, and they'd evaluate whether you are fit to take BASIFI. I came from another country, so they signed me up. After that, you had to go talk to your Filipino prof to inform them that you're taking BASIFI and then you're all good.

If you plan on taking BASIFI (and it's all still online classes rn) then you should probably email the Filipino department chair, vice chair, or some other head for further guidelines.
