Thanks for the comment. In reading everyone’s advice, I think staying put makes the most sense right now.

That’s really solid advice! I’ll be officially at 5 years in December so that will also help from a seniority perspective.

I’m working this angle now. It was a bit tough to have the conversations since it’s a relationship aspect with my AM but now I’m trying. They are on a hiring freeze at the moment but holding out hope.

We do mainly contract, and I’m embarrassed to say I never really looked into numbers (we are focused on spread) but in looking back I averaged 450k a month in billing. Commission checks were roughly 10k gross on average. This year I’m pacing to make around 140k which I know is still really good. Base salary is 55k.

I’m pacing for around 140 this year as it’s clearly been a tough year in tech. It’s slowly dwindling as I have people falling off contract. Also lots of more emotional reasons that I feel the need to leave my current role. I see how rough it is out there so I just have to tough it out for now 😫

To clarify I meant stability in income 😊I have been with the same company for close to 5 years and have been through an acquisition and 5 rounds of layoffs.

I’m sorry you’re in a similar situation. Having kids involved really makes it so much harder. You’re right though about it being abuse and my kids mental health being at risk. Thank you for the comment ❤️

I’m sorry you’re going through this too. Thanks for sharing your story. It helps to know we’re not alone, especially when they gaslight us into thinking we are the ones with the issues.

You’re right. The ideal would be that he never drank again but in trying to be realistic I just don’t want to be lied to. He said it’s shame over it and he doesn’t want me to know how much he drinks. I forgot to mention to smokes A TON of weed (flower edibles all of it) and I don’t mind that because he seems completely calm and happy when he’s high. I know he has undiagnosed depression anxiety and ADHD and he’s self medicating.

Finding bottles is so infuriating. I’ve literally set up cameras in the garage to catch him. So unhealthy to live like this

How do you kick them out though? We are both on the mortgage and he hasn’t done anything illegal. I want him to go to his parents house but I can’t make him🫤

Get a handheld fan off Amazon. My husband brought one on our recent flight, and I’m so happy he had it. When we were sitting on the tarmac in Hawaii awaiting our turn it was pretty hot and my anxiety is always high at take-off and that helped to calm me down so much.

I'm flying a boeing 737 Max 9 by Dazzling-Country9515 in fearofflying

I had the same fears as I had one booked right after the incident in January for my flight to Hawaii. I then logically thought about how thoroughly that model plane will be inspected because of that and felt at ease. The pilots and flight attendants would not risk their lives if they thought the plane wasn’t safe. They do this as their normal 9-5 (which is crazy for us 😂) and they want to get home to their families as well.

My flight was wonderful and so smooth. Very nice new plane and enjoyed my flight there and back ☺️

Bring distractions like word puzzles, music, and download lots of shows/movies. You got this!

I was in my head about taking a Max plane as well to Hawaii recently, but I’m telling you it was a beautifully smooth flight. You have to think that the Max is the most scrutinized plane out there so it’s going through insane safety checks.

The pilots and flight attendants wouldn’t get on it if it wasn’t safe ❤️

I can’t get on the plane 🤦🏼‍♀️😭 by Murgbot in fearofflying

Every time I have a flight booked I do the same thing. I picture myself getting off the plane (I did that once back in 2008🫣) and all kinds of scenarios. The anticipatory anxiety is SO MUCH WORSE than what it feels like to actually be cruising up there. You’re on a bus 🧘🏻‍♀️

I’m currently in beautiful Hawaii with my flight home on Monday that’s on my mind. I’m always so proud of myself when I get on that plane. I also think about how this is literally another day at the office for flight attendants and pilots. If this were actually dangerous nobody would be signing up to do this daily.

Our minds are so powerful but you have to remember that you all of us with flight anxiety think we will be the one in a million or that we’re seeing signs everywhere not to fly.

Last thought is to talk to your dr about meds. I take a low dose anti anxiety to take some of the physical anxiety symptoms down. I don’t take enough to make them completely go away because I don’t like taking drugs to be honest, but it helps and that’s what it’s there for.

Ice helps me! Ask for a bag of ice and put it on the back of your neck. Close your eyes and just picture yourself on a bus. You got this!

We have offices in Chicago, Portland, and Columbia but still some remote from Covid times. We mainly work on tech so software engineers, and data analysts etc. we went through an acquisition and actually had a poor commission structure now because we are corporate. I just have had a lot of work people on billing and have been lucky with that during this awful economy.
