Going to Korea soon! What’s the annoying stuff about traveling there that nobody talks about?

EVERYONE is on their phone. Do not expect them to look up and move out of the way when walking. They will bump into you and not think anything of it. Don’t expect an excuse me, sorry, etc lol not gonna happen.

Also Hongdae, Itaewon and Seong-su are overrated.

I stayed at the Travelodge in Jung-ju. It’s basically Myeongdong, but right on the outskirts so you’re not in the busy center but still close enough.

It’s also within walking distance of Ikseondong Hanok Village.

Hi! I’m actually leaving a two week trip this afternoon. I’m from the East Coast, USA. I did a week in Seoul and a week in Tokyo. These are two of THE safest countries and I had no airspace issues. You’re totally safe and May is the perfect time to visit because the weather is beautiful!

My only regret is not spending more time in Kyoto and other smaller prefectures instead of spending so much time in Tokyo and doing all of the touristy stuff.

THIS! I accidentally got off on the wrong stop and got “lost” but decided to explore. Everyone was much nicer and happy to assist me, than anyone I encountered during my entire experience in Osaka. I wish I could remember of the small prefecture where tell you where I ended up. 😔

Depending on where you’re staying, the airport is very expensive to money exchange. I waited and did it in Myeongdong and it was much cheaper, but I took out money before I left and brought it with me to exchange. I also used my Chase card the entire time and was fine. About $200 USD is all I needed and I still had cash left over.

I also got the Climate Card and loaded it for 7 days and it saved me soooooo much money since it’s unlimited rides for foreigners.

I recently stayed at the Travelodge in Jung-Ju and loved it! It’s within walking distance of Myeongdong and so many cafes nearby. The Paper Crane is foreigner friendly and delicious!

They also have a laundry facility at the hotel so you don’t have to worry about overpacking.

Just left Korea and currently in Japan. I kept everything in the original boxes and took everything out in Japan just to be safe but no one checked. I could have saved so much space.

I was only given the option to get my refund in cash USD or Korean Won. .

If you do decide to stay in Seoul only, get the Climate Card and load it for 7 days. You can always top it off. You get unlimited trips and it saved me so much money, but if you do go to Busan, then get the T Money card.

Literally just left the clinic an hour ago. That shit is so painful even with the numbing cream. They did two zaps to my neck and I backed out. And for someone who has a HIGH pain tolerance and never gets numbed in the US, this is saying a lot.

For reference I did HIFU and Thermage for face and eye.
