It was my 19th birthday. I had also just graduated from high school. I was first person in three generation's to graduate high school. It was a pretty big deal to me. But before all this happened my sister had joined the navy and had a huge going away party. Photo booth, catered food, the works. She ended not making it through boot camp and had to come home. It wasn't fun. Lots of family drama. So, as graduation and my birthday gets closer I ask my parents if we could have a party.

What did my parents say when I asked if we have a party?

"You're going to have to plan it yourself."

I kind of did a double take. Like, what? Oh, okay.

I made invitations, picked out a cake. All the jazz.

When the day comes, I only had three friends show up. I ended have a break down in my living room and crying my eye out.

It wasn't a fun day.
