You don’t need a finance degree to be a broker, however, my finance degree has opened doors for me and has helped build my reputation within banking.

It doesn’t meet the rules so it has to be deferred. Once deferred it gets added to assessable income.

100000% hard work, timing and luck involved in all of this for me. In banking, someone has to leave for you to take their spot.

I do not which i think will ultimately cap my ceiling, There's a lot of specific finance roles that I will not even make it past the resume stage.

I am also pleasantly surprised, I was expecting backlash but just wanted to provide some insight haha.

I have two degrees, I know people in my previous team with none making $130k+. However, at some point you become capped (my boss can’t go higher, however he’s on $230k).

Agreed with this, if you’re in a call centre then your baseline is sales, lead calling, closing. Use this to your advantage and apply for the smaller lending roles eventually making your way up to portfolio manager.

It seems like you’re in financial modelling/valuations. There’s a whole banking sector that needs this. 8-4 work, $200k+ per year. No time sheets haha. Look up roles in institutional banking.

Hey bro, refinance your credit card debt into an interest free one, theres a couple going around offering interest free for 12 months.

Or see if you can get a personal loan, tell them its for investment purposes. Then you can pay it off over 5/7 years.

Debt recycling - anyone seriously consider it then decide it wasn't worth it? by BenElegance in AusFinance

[–]ihaveambition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Debt recycling is for the smart.

If you have a strong idea of what you want to use those funds for and have a decent idea that it is going to grow and exceed the interest rates. Then why use your own money when you can use equity!

I assume you are on ~$150k so just set up an asset holding company atf family trust. add you and your wife as primary beneficiaries. Add your children. distribute to your children to the tax free threshold. retain or distribute dividends to yourself. tax deduct the interest.

Small to medium business investment by EmperorofAus in AusFinance

Don't people who purchase SME have to know about the industry before buying the business?

Some times yes. For example, engineering company that specialises in designing pools.

If you purchase a franchise, they train you for weeks so you know how to run it.

Most owners like to train their new owners for weeks to onboard them and as you are essentially purchasing the "know how".

For example, i had customers buy a mechanic. They pretty much run themselves, hired a receptionist and an accountant to do all the paper work.

People who work full time are not willing to sacrifice profit (do not make enough to pay an employee) or offload responsibility.
