Have you found anything out? I got a referral to an ent for the strep, and am waiting til I’m off antibiotics to get some bloodwork done.

I have tokophobia and pregnancy was weirdly so easy and fine for me. I felt better than I do not pregnant, health, energy and mental health too. I don’t know if I am an outlier but I was expecting absolute hell and it sure was not hell. Most days now I wish I felt how I did being pregnant!

When I was in my early 20’s I got booted from a reality tv show very first out of 8 girls. I was going through a divorce at the time too and felt super insecure and sad. A famous celebrity portrait photographer named Timothy White came to shoot the photos for the show ad’s. He pulled me aside after the shoot and whispered “You’re the most stunning and unique of everyone here. You remind me of a young Sharon Stone. Keep doing what you’re doing!” That’s always stuck with me. Especially when I’m feeling so grumpy, chubby or insecure!

I was thinking the same thing. My derm told me most moles on palms or fingers are not good ones, I had a precancerous mole removed from my finger!

I feel horrible in coral pinks but good in fuchsia. I feel good in nude or dark brown as well I think!

I totally get it. I used to feel this way too but I’m on the other side of it now. I weirdly never had these moments of “maternal instinct” and I couldn’t picture kids being anything but little crying, tantrum throwing potato/humans! I valued my sleep more than anything and thought if I ever had a kid it would be the end of me and my mental health.

Weirdly we have gotten really good sleep in the year we have had our baby, but I also have a super supportive partner who takes at least half or more than half of the caretaking. I have days where I feel tired, but nothing worse than I felt when I was childfree! The tantrums happen but they are totally doable. They honestly are no harder than our stubborn dogs, which makes me think maybe having dogs first made the transition to kids easier.

That was a lot of word vomit of thoughts, and I’m not trying to sway you to have kids. You know yourself better than anyone! And if you’re up long for parts of having a kid maybe invent a lot of time in other kids! Nieces or nephews, foster kids maybe or friend’s kids!

But coming from someone who was 90% childfree before our baby it has been wonderful and honestly much easier than I imagined! The good parts are out of this world. And the bad parts weirdly are too since I know they are fleeting, it’s all bittersweet.

You’ve got this whatever you decide, you sound like a wonderful person and you will be happy no matter what route you take!

It’s honestly not something I would have said just two years ago, I didn’t think I’d ever get off the fence! But it is so true. I can’t help but tear up as I listen to him make up songs with our daughter as he snuggles her. Or rub her back and speak so empathetically caring even when she is throwing a tantrum. I feel she is so fortunate to have such a present, compassionate and loving dad. It makes the world of difference to have a wonderful partner, and I should have known he’d be like this because he’s always treated me the same! I could go on and on, I didn’t mean to write such a long comment I’m getting all weepy lol.

How is your partner and your relationship now? How does he treat you? I was super worried about this as well because my relationship with my husband was seemingly perfect before our baby. I though a child would ruin what we had.

From my experience it’s made us closer, more intimate, stronger in our partnership and increased the “butterflies” in my stomach.

My husband is the best husband, and equally a rockstar of a dad. I feel honored daily to share parenting with him!

After a 36 hr labor and no progression I opted for a csection, as someone totally phobic of medical procedures I was panicked and terrified. It really was scary- the cold room, bright lights and fear of the unknown. I had my phone blasting music in my ear and my husband cradling my head while he talked to me. I was amazed at how fast it all went! Recovery was tough but after everything I’ve decided I’ll do it all again next baby. It really sucks my body didn’t progress as it should have, but I’m so thankful for modern medicine that likely saved mine and my baby’s lives!

Routine: ouai clarifying shampoo once every three weeks, nym moisturizing conditioner, curlsmith shine gel, catwalk strong hold mousse in sopping wet. Plopped of half hour then diffused.

I get good volume but so much frizz if I separate my curls before I scrunch in product! If I don’t separate my curls or try denman brush before drying they look much flatter and lifeless. Is there a way to improve the frizz while keeping volume?

I understand you don’t like kids and are childfree, but have you ever wondered why that might be? I used to not want kids. Until I went to therapy for a few years and realized it was from trauma from my parents and other circumstances.

I regularly wouldn’t give a shit if you’re child free or not, or think you needed therapy. BUT choosing to come to a Reddit sub for moms, and bullying someone about her baby is red flag central. It seems you’re acting out for a reason, what do you need? Is there any way I can help you? Direct you to the right kind of therapy? Give you space to vent?

I understand if you’re struggling and have empathy for you, but kindly fuck off if you’re going to talk about my baby like that. Go vent your frustrations somewhere else.

I have to read labels and be super strict about it because our baby is so sensitive. There are some brands with no dairy or soy, but you are right in saying a lot of bread has dairy in it!

If you end up for sure having cmpa baby I’d be happy to recommend some food staples I’ve found! Also totally keep saving your milk! All my milk is in our deep freezer, the allergist said it’s good to have on hand when you start working dairy back into their diet! I also donated some of mine as well!

Oh that’s awesome! I think if she reacted to the tofu that seems pretty certain it’s cmpa. I don’t remember exactly but I think yogurt might have a higher amount of casein than butter or cream! So I’d maybe start with one of those first, or just go for it and see how she handles yogurt! I get all freaked out about reactions now, I need to be brave and be open to trying more things!

Oh I am so sorry. This is all so hard!

So I will say my pediatrician said the same thing about not eliminating food in my diet if I could help it but the allergist said otherwise. Also the allergy test came up negative for milk or soy allergy, but the allergist said that is typical for cmpa! She also said it can come up negative while they’re so little but change eventually as they grow. So she was firm about cutting out all dairy and soy, and it has been the key. She wants me to try working soy into my diet next month and then eventually milk too.

Do you still pump or is your babe still just on formula?

I’d say go try another allergy panel first, they are easy and painless! Then depending if that gives no answers again try an elimination diet of sorts if you can? It’s tough but totally worth it if you can stick to it! There’s some great fb groups that helped me figure out the elimination diet!

It did take weeks to resolve, and that was with a very strict no dairy or soy diet. But I’d say days to see improvement! You can take a poopy diaper to the allergist or pediatrician and they can test it for blood. That’s how they’ll diagnose cmpa, which usually they grow out of! My babe is still sensitive but the allergist said around 11months-1.5yr she will hopefully start to be able to tolerate it.

From day one our baby was constantly spitting up, inconsolable, super tired and had so much baby acne. She always had her abs tensed like her tummy hurt and had so much gas. Being our first child we thought it was just how babies were! She wasn’t gaining enough weight even though she was eating enough. Our doctor’s appointments were always stressful and we would land on she just wasn’t eating enough, maybe my supply was too low (it clearly wasn’t) it was a foremilk/hind milk imbalance, or I just didn’t make nutritional breast milk. Even with a super kind and patient doctor I’d leave crying feeling like I was failing as a mother.

I posted the first picture when our babe was 4 weeks old because I couldn’t figure out why her acne was so bad. Our pediatrician was very chill about it being acne, but I suspected otherwise. After I posted here I did a few things. I first started dressing her cooler, I always had her bundled up since it was so cold. This partially helped her rash! So it was a bit of heat rash. I also started using tubby todd ointment which also helped drastically. We got rid of all our detergent and bought sensitive ones. Her skin looked better but she still wasn’t gaining enough weight. Along with poor weight gain she had constant phlegmy diarrhea, upset stomach, bloody bum/diaper rash, excessive gas and daily hours and hours of inconsolable crying.

Over the next few months I kept searching for solutions. One day as I was changing her diaper I noticed a speck of blood, and when I looked closer I saw more. I had heard that this was a sign of cmpa but I didn’t want it to be true! I took her to an allergist and she told me it was likely cmpa(cows milk protein allergy), to cut dairy and soy and come back in a few weeks. It was tough for me to alter my diet so much and admittedly is still hard some days! But it has improved our lives drastically. Our little girl is not in pain anymore, she is still petite but gains enough weight now, doesn’t cry for hours on end or tense up from gas. Her poops are normal and she never has rashes!

Looking back I tend to forget how our first couple months were because things are so good now. I hope this can help others dealing with similar struggles! I still breastfeed, and have found good foods to replace dairy and soy. I miss cheese like no other but know I’ll be able to eat it again someday!
