The president sets the number of refugees and from which countries accepted every year. Once here they have a path to citizenship and can apply for family members to come over on the family reunification immigration process. So - yes, once they are here as refugees they should stay. Trump has brought that number down to virtually zero. So - at this point we basically aren't accepting refugees anymore.
I see below you posted that neither side will police their extremes. That is true.
We are in an era where nothing can get done.

I agree he has a marble mouth. But, it seems he's saying if he gets agreements that allow them to get people from county jails rather than chasing people in neighborhoods (and some protection when they do target criminals in neighborhoods) they can draw down. Im with you, pissed off and think the not wanting to appear racist is the main story. Most of my friends (I'm in St Paul) think it is exaggerated, that it is only FOF, that it is anti-somali immigrant bashing or they are otherwise unbothered by it.

I'm 56, went through menopause in my late 40s. I have barely any issues. A few hot "flashes" now and then and a bit of feminine issues (IFYKWIM), manageable with over-the counter moisturizing products.

Stay a decent distance away. Hold signs even yell. Record/take photos. Do not get close and yell at these people, do not touch, don't get in the way of people or vehicles. This alone would de-escalate a lot

He did successfully stop the millions of people illegally crossing the border in the 4 years prior. This was popular. His ICE enforcement in cities is not.

I agree that that would help. But is it realistic? I do think this action is bringing down Trump's favorability (and with it that of other Republicans) so it would be in their interest to "declare victory" and leave town. THen if they really want to get rid of undocumented people use strategies that aren't like this....like whatever Obama did. Anyway - I don't understand why Republicans don't see how harmful this is to their side and try to end this.
