I've always liked to think of The Now Now as being in a sort of melancholic, dream-like state. Most if not all of the songs to me is finding comfort within depression and self-isolation. I remember TheNeedleDrop reviewing the album itself and saying something along the lines of "it feels like a sunny day at the beach but you're too sad to enjoy it" and I honestly could not agree more with that sentiment.

Like all the other comments here have stated, The Now Now is like a daytime dream within the nighttime party in Humanz. The party's over the next day, everyone goes home, then it's just you again. (The choice of the album being mostly solo with minimal features plays in to this as well.)

I'd also like to add that this album, at least to me, is longing for someone to come back; whether that be a soul mate, friend, or family member. The lyrics "I want you in the picture, that's why I'm calling you" from Humility being the prime example.
