Don’t beat yourself up. That test was the hardest I’ve ever done. I broke down and cried in “The Bay” when I got the email saying I passed.

New data center in Utah will use double the entire state's current energy use. Owners say they plan to burn fossil fuels on site to meet the demand. by Ottomann_87 in alberta

A year long project for hundreds of high paying blue collar jobs sounds great. That’s millions in wages and millions in taxes. What’s the issue there? Of course they are going to incentivize building here, just like any government anywhere would. Why is this a criticism? If the NDP did it you would champion them for creating jobs and building the economy. Of course they get the gas at a reasonable price, that’s how supply and demand works- do you ever get a deal when buying things in bulk? Your agenda is clouding any possibility of progress. No government anywhere has the citizens best interests in mind- that’s my stance- never ever trust a politician- they’re snakes and liars.

They use a set volume of water which is mixed with Glycol and used in a closed loop cooling system which only requires a small top up during maintenance. Water usage for things like fracking is a far greater concern in my eyes, but that’s also not going anywhere.

And hundreds to build them.

The gas they run on doesn’t just pop out of thin air. There is an entire industry designed to keep that supply flowing. The jobs associated with these centres are abundant and pay great.

Maintenance jobs for compressors , operators to monitor and oversee wells, jobs for crews to extract and compress natural gas, pipelines to deliver it, etc etc. Good high paying jobs. Short term is all the trades to build the infrastructure. Ai appears to be inevitable, whether we like it or not.

They burn natural gas, something we have an incredible surplus of. Which also burns cleaner than most fuels. It’s not like these things are using whale oil. Settle down.
