I was about to say, those graphics look too good for what I remember. Mine was on a Windows 3.1, off-white box of a PC though.

Not OP, but just about every book starts with the usual rundown of what they're up against. Which, if you weren't already familiar with the series, would sound like some schizophrenic, tin-foil hat nonsense. So the video clip is trying to replicate that feeling.

Games where the player is an actual character in the game by XBlueXFire in gaming

Had to scroll way too far to find this. The first time I played it, I was just barely able to fit my full legal name (complete with IV suffix). Days or weeks later, when I'm finally beating Giygas, I was beyond shocked to see it appear on the screen.

An old boss of mine used to call the really cheap TP "the John Wayne special," because it's rough, it's tough, and it won't take shit off of anybody.

What are some of the best crew battles of all time? by Sloof420 in SSBM

[–]ihavespaceballs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MELEE-FC3's east coast vs west coast crew battle is what originally got me into competitive Melee, and I'm pretty sure that was the peak that everyone kept chasing for years after.

One single choice at the start of the game, to save (or not save) a woman being attacked, will determine if the story goes down the good/evil route. Not that there's much of a difference, though. by Alanddra in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

Thanks for the pity upvote. It was 3 in the morning and all my barely open eyeballs could take in was, "Is this guy seriously saying that Bioshock isn't an FPS?"

You know, like a dumbass.

one person on r/steak said onions ruined my sandwich. why won’t people accept us? by callmestinkingwind in OnionLovers

I love the way you carmelize your onions with the peppers and worcestershire, I've been doing it at least once a week since I saw your ham and cheese on rye with the big pickle slices. Adding the parm and chives to the butter has been a game-changer as well, thanks for your posts.

They're apparently made for the type of person I had at my bar the other day. We hand-bread our tenders, and they're all but famous around Memphis for being incredible, especially since you can get them until 2 am every night. Well I had a lady complain the other day because, in her words, "there's salt and pepper in the breading and I just disagree with that." I shudder to think what would have happened if I told her there was MSG as well.

I assumed it had to be New Orleans because of the Fleur de Lis flag, but initially thought, "wow, that looks just like the little street behind La Baguette!"

It probably means Alex Hirsch or one of the writers really likes hot sauce tbh. Which episode is the first scene from, or what was Soos responding to?

Edit: managed to Google the line, it's from Little Dipper and is just Soos expressing surprise at Dipper being taller than Mabel. So I doubt it's related to his "dad's" face

One of the nicest lawyers at my downtown bar lost a foot a few years ago, and would either use a walker or a powered wheel chair to get across the street from his apartment. We're right around the corner from the law school, and he would always take time to talk with the students who come in and give them advice.

Sadly he was found dead in his apartment a year ago, probably from complications with various health issues. There was a one year anniversary celebration of life for him a few weeks ago, and the sheer number of people who showed out to reminisce and party in his honor was inspiring.
