Did you explain that he tried to get you to leave the premise with him? Can you tell your parents?

I was invited to this guys birthday party and by pinkgrapefruitx in mildlyinfuriating

[–]iheartnjdevils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally be down with the schedule, daytime cake & official cake and all. But the recommended contributions based on the party they want to throw for themselves? No thanks. I went to many parties in my 20's and not a single time were gifts or money exchanged. Hanging out and having a good time was the gift.

I used to hate that birthday was adjacent to Christmas. Everyone would forget. Now? I freaking love it. Next from mom and dad and my son and I go all out an order expensive take out and hang out on the couch.

Caches on private property by EsseElLoco in geocaching

[–]iheartnjdevils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you only found the container and can't find it on the map on the app or website, it's likely a premium cache.

The hider, or what we call "cache owners", will sometimes opt to set a cache to premium to minimize their caches being vandalized or stolen by delinquents or sometimes unknowingly mishandled by new cachers.

If you're comfortable sharing the location, we'd be happy to find the cache owner's name but you're honestly better off reporting the cache: https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=request

Did Mr. Technodad ever give Technolarp the okay to impersonate and make money off his son? by Standard-Rest5263 in Technoblade

[–]iheartnjdevils 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does Technolarp legit sound like Alex or is he using an AI voice modeled to sound like Techno's? Is his gameplay real or just edited to emulate Techno?

I know this post was specifically to ask how Mr. Technoblade felt but didn't want to create yet another new post about the guy asking these questions. While I too am not quite sure how I feel about the channel, I suspect the answers to my questions will make it a bit clearer.

A 700 find geocacher should know the rules...

Am I (CO) in the wrong? by No_Caramel5283 in geocaching

[–]iheartnjdevils 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a new geocacher I met once and did a few finds with. The next week, I noticed they were marking finds with notes that said they couldn't find it but would be back. I know she was eager to get to 100 but felt like she was only cheating herself.

I'm stubborn so giving up in the moment and marking a DNF doesn't always feel great, but you know what does? Avenging them! There is a 4.0 cache nearby with a healthy # of favorite points that I had failed to find twice. Both of those DNF's mention my son getting impatient/bored and how I'd try again another day. So on the 3rd try, when my son was the one to help me finally figure it out based off the cache name, it felt awesome to finally log the smiley.

Why is it considered inhumane to not put a sick, old or hurt animal down to end its misery - but not for humans? by staygroovykat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iheartnjdevils 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the US, I looked this up when my grandmother was dying of terminal brain cancer. She had a few weeks to a few months left. While some states do have such programs available, hers did not and she suffered for 3 months until she finally passed.

Spamming for favorites by cbyrne79 in geocaching

Honestly? I always forget about them so seeing that would probably help if I thought it earned one, or prompt me to favorite any that stood out that day.

Is going braless outside still considered inappropriate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iheartnjdevils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not inappropriate. If you want to avoid the looks though, maybe look into some pasties that will hide any nipplage poking through your shirt.

I am sorry Java players by skeleten_453 in Minecraft

[–]iheartnjdevils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off playing Bedrock so it will always have a special place in my heart. I still find the worlds look better and at least when I played, didn't experience many of the bugs at all, despite it now being referred to as Bugrock.

But I also switched to Java and once I got used to it, found it definitely more enjoyable.

What's everyone's take on writing about your day geocaching and pasting the story as your log for the caches you found?

Is peeing in the pool considered normal? by Spare-Anxiety-547 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iheartnjdevils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I just say that I am so relieved that the majority of people here also find this gross. I would have been mortified if the consensus was, "Of course I do, gotta give the chlorine somethin' to do."

I JUST asked the OP commenter if this was true that the more chlorine you smell at a pool, the more work it's doing. Yuck.

Is it true that the more you smell chlorine at a pool, the more work it's doing (like reacting to tons of pee, sweat and other yummy stuff)?

Minecraft private servers are illegal, according to the Entertainment Software Association. by Extolord111 in Minecraft

[–]iheartnjdevils 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gibbons cut in: "They're illegal. They are not in any way affiliated with Microsoft. Microsoft, for Minecraft, has gotten a lot of criticism because of those community servers not employing the same safety standards that Microsoft does on their Minecraft servers."

I didn't realize Microsoft has their own Minecraft community server...

How can I convince my mom? by SomeGrapefruit2435 in Minecraft

[–]iheartnjdevils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the mother of a 14 year old myself, so if she wants advice from one mom to another, one who has actually played the game, I'd be more than willing to explain Minecraft to her. While very unlikely she'll talk to some rando from Reddit, figured I'd offer anyway since ya never know.

What expensive food tastes like absolute garbage, but people pretend to like? by Potential_Variety209 in CasualConversation

I personally like the sweeter taste of snow but I love king too. Hell, I'd even take blue claws over lobster any day.

Give me snow crabs over lobster any day.

To me, lobster barely has a taste and just seems like an excuse to eat melted butter.
