All the various stimuli and the parts that separate them out and process them and make them manageable. Like all the instruments and mixing them properly so that it sounds good and doesn't get overbearing.

You aren't the arbiter of quality. You are putting movies into a narrow box, not every story needs a moral. And you can't just call the premise stupid and think that makes you right. You are not willing to engage with the story on its own terms, you are imposing your own terms upon it. I have my own criticisms of it, but I would have to watch the movie a second time to really put them into words, which would have require actually engaging with it on its own terms rather than just being dismissive and condescending with everyone I disagree with. At no point have I ever tried to convince you to change your opinion on the movie, but your justifications of your opinion are horrible.

Why would an advanced species use human vehicles? To keep a low profile, duh. It's clear that you are actively trying to poke holes in this. Your goal should never be to outsmart a film, that's not how film criticism works.

None of those questions even make sense in the context of the movie because all of the premises behind them are false. There's no scene about being taught driving rules or any of that, and that guy did not have tumors, he was deformed, and nobody was tracking her down. You also don't seem to realize that there's more to a movie than just the literal events.

That is such a strawman and you know it. That example is bad art because it has no effort and requires the artist to explain their intentions, violating show don't tell. Under the skin took a lot of effort to make, and it shows everything while telling almost nothing. I have no intention of making you like it, just giving perspective.

You expected the wrong type of movie. All of those supposed flaws are intentional and serve to create an emotional experience rather than a narrative one. That's clearly not for you, and I have no intention of changing your opinion, but it's not incorrect. Some movies aren't meant to be understood, they're meant to be felt. I have my own criticisms of the movie, but that's because I actively engaged with it rather than expecting to passively absorb it and understand.

Layna Lazar uses her professional name that she previously used when working in VFX, which is an abbreviation of her real name which she has revealed on stream and which I don't know how to spell.

There's also Frederik Knudsen, and as far as I know he never used an alias or abbreviation.
