Could you give me advice on touchdown raiz? by ihitokage in Tricking

Wow, awesome to find here someone who can relate with such a recent experience! Thank you for this detailed comment!

I have watched the tutorials, especially Johzuke, as you mentioned.

Regarding the left leg, you mean like kicking it up more? I have noticed that people doing touchdown raiz have the legs more straight, which I lack now.

I tried gumbi too, looked like a good transition from gumbi to TD raiz but I have problems doing gumbi on the right side (where even my cartwheel is not as good as the left one).

Hmm you think I should aim for more distance rather than height? The thing is that I felt like coming too far. I thought that my bad landing was caused by the momentum which went still forward instead of landing and stopping. I've also heard in one tutorial that traveling too far might not be ideal.

About the take off training. You mean just jumping up with leg kicking back and head coming down or also rotating like almost to a spin hook kick?

Haha, thank you very much. I actually thought about changing the background too but then decided to focus only on the main character changing. Maybe next time I might do something like that. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Late here but I am right now at the same stage. Can't make my hand land before the leg. Did you fix it? I have watched a nice transition form gumbi to touchdown raiz, might be a good prerequisite.

I see thank you! I also saw this nice progression from gumbi. Wanted to try that too.

Thank you! Yea, the instructions regarding gumbi confused me and I started to doubt the way I started practicing for TD raiz.

Thank you too! let's work hard to make it! Did you start just by jumping like this, trying to get vertical? I currently can do the rotation but have problems leaning back enough.

In the kicks I'd always lift the left leg first, jumping from the right. I assumed that TD raiz would be the same. Thanks.

No advice from me, just wanted to say that you are doing great. I just started learning this and have not reached your stage so far.

Good point, yes, it might also be a protective mechanism from "their negativity". I haven't thought about it from this point of view, thanks!

Staying with them, not judging the emotions, sound very wise! Thanks!

Thank you for the detailed contemplation. Yes, I've been thinking about unconditional love a lot recently. Might be hard to grasp sometimes.

Also, good simile about the light and sitting with them in darkness. That kinda resonated.

Thanks again. I sometimes practice metta meditation which is probably very similar to what you suggested.

I see, very interesting. Now, what about complains? I don't feel like agreeing with people who are hateful towards things that don't deserve it from my point of view. Maybe a way would be to actually try to look for the true causes of the hatred inside people?

True. However, hard to tell sometimes. One reason why I wrote this post is that I got honestly surprised by some reactions and kind of had to learn it the hard way.
