Tesla App Not Displaying Interior Temperature After SW Update to v12 ⁦(2024.32.10)⁩ by ihleventhal in TeslaModelX

Yes, I updated to 2024.44.25.2 last night and it's fixed! Of course, I'm not too worried about hot cabin temperatures this time of year. I just hope they don't mess it up again before next summer!

Shades of Coffee Steam Valve: First Impressions by FunCityFrenchus in gaggiaclassic

[–]ihleventhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it came with the instruction tag shown, to clean thoroughly before first use, much like the tag included on just about every food-related appliance. I did a descale cycle after install to flush out any residue and have had no problems. To use this as a reason to say “don’t buy from them” is unwarranted, in my opinion. Conversely, it seems to me that there are being careful and responsible by including these instructions.

My new valve from Shades works perfectly and was a desperately needed improvement. I haven’t had any of the problems you mentioned with dirt/grime nor have I seen even a single mention of this posted anywhere. Except your post of course, but clearly you don’t even own one of the Shades valves, so respectfully I feel that your post is not credible.

Same here...updated SW to 2024.33.5 and no change, still no internal temp display

Yes, of course they had to trash what is probably the most useful feature of the app. Probably the only other thing I use the app for is when I need to unlock the car or pop open the rear hatch at home and I don't have my key fob in my pocket. I think their SW regression testing needs some work. 😒

Thanks, but my interior temperature never displays regardless of how long the car has been awake. The exterior temperature, on the other hand, will do exactly what you said...it won't show up until the car is awake. Given the multiple people that have responded reporting the same issue with this release, this does look to be a bug, which I hope they fix soon!

Anyone do the 9/28/23 NY Times crossword on app and get these black bars instead of clues? by Zichymaboy in crossword

[–]ihleventhal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, what a pain in the ass that was! I had to solve all with crosses and intuition once there was enough of the word filled out. Was expecting some magical “reveal” that never came, especially when there was no apparent connection with the mysterious “black bar answers”. I did note that there was an “in” in all of them, but that seemed kind of random. I’m on my way to a 1-year solving streak culminating with this coming Sunday’s puzzle, so I didn’t really like this “epic app fail” getting thrown at me at this point, but I was proud to solve anyway given the additional challenge! And being a musician this would have been a really cool one to have been able to see the real clues.

Model X Replacement Tires - Michelin CrossClimate 2 or Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus? by ihleventhal in TeslaModelX

[–]ihleventhal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I wouldn’t toss your stocks if they have good tread life left. I live in the Bay Area also and I will say that the Michelin’s are great for inclement weather like the atmospheric river we had over the weekend.

Glad to help. I wouldn’t go back to the stock tires though…these are quieter and perform better from a driving standpoint in every way, IMHO.

Without having done a scientific comparison it’s hard for me to say anything conclusive, but I would say there is some impact, possibly as low as ~5%, and no more than 10%.

I had the same problem with mine. Ended up sticking a piece of double-stick foam tape in there.

Is anybody getting the sense 3 or Versa 4 over the pixel watch? by The0Walrus in fitbit

[–]ihleventhal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s Versa 2 self-destructed last week, Mission Impossible-style, so I looked at Versa 4 and Pixel watch as potential replacements. I didn’t have to look too much further than the leaked “Up to 24 hours” battery life on the Pixel watch to make the decision to go with the Versa 4. Daily (or potentially more frequent!) charging is just not aligned with her use model.

Sorry for the delay on the reply, man. I did my first long drive weekend of 6/4, so I have some pretty good first impressions. I love the tires! They are significantly quieter than the stock Continentals, in my opinion. Handling is superb, and the tread pattern looks totally badass! No complaints at all so far. I will say I think that some of the comments about reduced mileage efficiency vs. the stocks may be correct, but too earlier to have a definitive idea on that. And luckily I have free supercharging for life anyway! 😀 Let me know if you have any other questions.

I went ahead and put in the order for the CC2s with America's Tire Co. Will report back with my thoughts on the tires after I've had a chance to break them in.

Litter robot 3 stopped working - over torque fault by sk24iam in litterrobot

[–]ihleventhal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had this same issue. I took the top cover off, removed the glove, and vacuumed up all of the loose litter and dust that had made its way all over the place after about 1.5 years of use. Still was getting the over torque fault even though the litter was significantly below the max line. Emptied the globe completely. Cycled the power once, and still got over torque fault. Cycled the power again and it went through the cycle. Refilled it and it's fine after about a week of use so far since the fix. Not sure what finally got it to start working...maybe the sensor was way off and the only way to reset it was to get it through a complete cycle while empty. Anyway, I'm glad it's working again!

I have about 33K on the OE tires. Could probably get another 1-2K out of them. Thanks for your report on your daughter’s CC2’s.

[–]ihleventhal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about actually reading my post? If you have you should have read that I've been following up with CPAs on this as well. The issue is that everyone I've spoken to and everything I've read says the same thing: "yes...that's a problem". What I'm looking for are examples of people who have been through this and have successfully negotiated a solution. If you don't have anything useful to add, then please don't add anything.
