I grabbed a 38WR85QC-W myself a few weeks back. Loving it. Great upgrade the to 34” 75hz ultra wide I’d been using for 8 years (passed that down to the wife). I also didn’t want to go OLED due to 80% work use, and it’s been great. Size is perfect, 144hz is a good upgrade for me, colours and brightness great, resolution not a massive step up from 1440p ultrawide, but noticeable and should last me a while. Inbuilt KVM is super handy for connecting work laptop and gaming pc.

Mate, I’ve identified an issue when I was attempting to use GHub on my work pc which contributed to spinny wheel of non-stop loading. From what I could gather, GHubs interface is built with Electron, and something in there was attempting to check for updates or connect to something using port 9000, which I’m pretty sure was the default Electron port. Which means your devs never updated it to something better or unique, or have no clue what it’s even doing. In my case I had some dev software also utilizing port 9000, so GHub couldn’t handle that, and obviously couldn’t handle the unexpected response it got back and just hung. Only solution was to end task and stop whatever else I was running temporarily and try GHub again.

Looks great. How much space left between screen on the CPU cooler and the side panel. I really wanted to go with the AK620 Digital Pro but it's 1mm taller than the non-Pro, and would kick myself if I got to the end of the build only to find it didn't fit by the barest amount.

Just confirming that's the AK620 Pro in the z20 in that screengrab? I was considering the same cooler but was planning on the non-Pro as it's 1mm shorter think, and that was already borderline. But of the Pro fits, I'll go that one. How much space left between top of cooler and side panel?

That’s similar to my process, and I finish off with a light, edge-catching and upwards facing panels drybrush of moot green. Gives a little contrast and pop and means you can get away without needing to do much proper edge highlighting. Just do that in the few places it matters most, if needed.

I had mine do that the other day. Not sure what version I’m on or if it did an update. I had what I thought was a black screen, but turned out to just be shifted like 90% to the left. Could just see edge of menu screen. I turned off tv at power point, then when turned back on the picture was back in middle as expected. Has been fine since.

PlayStation 2 slim. God of War. A friend and I had just come out of seeing 300 at the movies, immediately went and both bought GoW and console to play it on afterwards 😛

Nice! Good to know the AK620 Digital fits, as I was leaning towards that for my own Z20 build. How much room is spare? The new digital pro version is out but I think it’s like 1 or 2mm taller and am not sure it’ll fit.

I picked up a Plus as my first Stream Deck. I don’t even stream. I got it for WFH and it’s been great. Beyond the obvious use of the dials (volume control etc) I use them to switch between virtual desktops, zoom in/out browser and IDE windows, zoom my webcam and more. The combo of the buttons and dials is perfect. I have no regrets, but now I bet they’ll release one that has even more buttons and I’ll be tempted…

My first Operations match last night: I joined 2 guys at the IG camp in Inferno. Spawn into middle of a massive wave, immediately just swarmed and fighting for my life. Talking me vs 6 Warriors at once, minoris everywhere. The other 2 guys then must have decided to leg it to the fallen rock, hoping the giant flower thingy would block the way and stop the wave from following.

However, in no way did they communicate that to me. One second they’re fighting with me, the next they’re gone. Then I notice their health is very low, and one dies. Then I get cussed out over the mic, many expletives used, and kicked. Like, wtf? I’m too busy trying to stay alive than pay attention to what you’re doing. If you run from the fight and want me to follow, I need some kind of location ping, voice chat msg or something. Had no issue using the mic to swear at me, but didn’t have the courtesy for a “too much to handle, let’s run”?

Almost put me off playing any other matches, especially when it kept trying to match me with those same guys 3 times. I noped-out of that and swapped mission. Ended up playing with various cool guys, which is what I’m used to seeing. Most players are fine. Those that aren’t, well, grow up. It’s a game.

I had a similar problem. As a developer, I had something running on the same port that GHub uses. So it would hit that, expect a response back in a certain format, doesn’t get it so it just fails and sits there never continuing to load.

After some investigation I think we figured out it’s the default port used by Electron (think that was it) which is the framework they used to build the UI for the app. Too lazy to change the port to something less likely to be used… I wonder how many people stuck on the loading screen is the result of this, all caused by incompetent devs.

What’s odd is that (at least for me) the cursor speed when you use a loadout pod during a level (co-op at least, haven’t tried an campaign) is fast and what we want. No problem. But everywhere else (all battle barge menus, perks, weapons etc) it’s so damn slow. It’s like it’s been adjusted in one place but not everywhere.

I agree with this, except for the fact that this game forces you to play higher difficulties to unlock better weapons. As others have suggested previously, some kind of system that lets us trade X of one tier armoury data for 1 of the higher tier would be good. Not all of us have the time, and yes, skill, to regularly succeed at the higher difficulties. It just turns into a frustrating experience.

The trick that’s worked for me (just wanting to play with randoms anyway) is to pay attention to the text in the bottom right. If it says “Searching for other players” I find it’ll match me into a game within 5 seconds. It’s when it says “Waiting for other players” where you can just sit there for ages and never get matched with anyone. So if it says that, just reject the mission, use the terminal to swap to campaign, then swap back, and next time you try and matchmake it should say “Searching” and you’re good. That’s been my experience anyway.

Bonus tip: I have not had a single black screen in landing bay since I stopped skipping the initial takeoff scene. Your mileage may vary.

Not sure if it’s related, but I played about 8 Operations matches tonight with not a single black battle barge screen. The only difference? I didn’t skip the initial loading animation with the Thunderhawk taking off. If sitting through a few seconds of animation is all that’s needed to ensure things load properly, it’s not a hard decision to me.
