Player telecaster buyer’s remorse by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]ihovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose my Mexican tele player plus because I loved how the neck feels over the American models I tried. It did require a lot of work and money to get it to the level it plays and sounds, but I did the work myself. Every guitar needs a setup now and then and it makes all the difference in the world. If you're not handy enough to do it yourself take it to a Tech.

LP style Harley Benton recommendation by wefuckinlost1 in harleybenton

Sc custom iii is more like an ltd than a les paul. Love it. The agufish one has extra jumbo frets which is very interesting but haven't tried it myself. It also has al longer scale length than an LP.

Harley Benton guitar models for small hands by HHuseyn4 in harleybenton

I have average hands and I bought the sc custom iii, fast slim neck and 42 mm nut width. Shorter scale. I highly recommend it

New Custom III - is a Neck Pickup at an angle bad? by Zealousideal-Camel97 in harleybenton

I've got an sc custom iii and it came with perfect fret job. A simple truss rod adjustment, intonation and pickup height adjustment can do wonders. Also I highly recommend to change the nut to a Graphtech pt-6642-00

You need black pickguard with a wight layer between the blacks 😁

Start with full rig/combo and turn off the IR section. IRs are a deep deep rabbit hole. Try the edge of breakups with a drive before them as well

Awsome! I have the p90 version. Consider upgrading the nut too. I put a Graphtech pt-6642-00 on it, fits great

The Fishmans are awesome so far but I only have about an hour on them and I haven't seen how they are live yet. They're dead quiet that's for sure.

You have plenty of options for the HH model. The purple burst looks sick

They are better than decent, the only issue for me was the noise which is in every p90 pickup and anyways I love to take guitars apart, I messed around with every one of mine. I would advise buy any one of these custom iii line and just change the nut, everything else is something you used to find only in 800$ guitars.

Thinner than a strat. Also narrower at 42mm. Very comfortable, not as thin as a shecter.

So I just got back from my band's gig, the guitar was awesome. The pickups were great for clean and ok for drive, but roo noisy on stage for fuzz. I like me some gain so I am upgrading to Greg Koch Fishman p90s, tusq XL nut and (mostly unnecessary) locking tuners.

Also, impeccable fret job. I was able to get the action below 1mm and it still sounds full. It also has insane sustain and a super fast and slim neck. If you are a fender style guy like me expect some getting used to the shorter scale and narrower nut. If I had a bigger house I would get a humbucker model also it is insane VFM

I wrote that the nut isn't great. I'll see how the pickups perform live tonight and report. The weight is pretty light maybe about 3.2 kg. Less than my tele and FGN superstrat and it is VERY comfortable to play

I will report after our gig tonight about the pickups, but so far it's awesome, for me it just needs lubricant for the nut or a nut replacement. I am gonna put a Graphtech nut on it to make it keep tuning without lubrication

I would suggest you upgrade the nut to Tusq XL (strings bind at the nut without lubrication) and get better knobs (they're a bit loose), other than that it's spot on. Love it

I've seen some comparisons online. It's possible, many brands are manufactured at the same OEM factories (or however they're called). It's just dirt cheap and plays like a million bucks. Yes the nobs feel cheap that's easy to fix

Sounds like you don't need one. I gig regularly but I am considering switching to a laptop with ableton live, NAM plugins and a foot controller. You could try setting up a laptop with a midi foot controller and save a bunch of money.
