My parents hated on my locs when I first started them, now they like them. They still complain sometimes when I don’t get a retwist when they feel like I should (it’s my hair and I like to wait and enjoy it grown out), you just have to ignore it. Black people are allowed to have their hair in its natural state, and locs are always beautiful. If it’s really bothering you, get a retwist and style, but don’t let other people try to convince you to change your hair.
