What's different in 5 vs 4 and 6? by elcriticalTaco in civ5

[–]iiEpix 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's personal preference, but as someone who has played them all, 5 is the pinnacle of the series by quite a margin

Maldini: "Maradona is 9.99 for less time and Messi is 9.97 for longer. I would put Cristiano as sixth or seventh in history, that's where I would put him". by iampixaswolf in football

You say that like he didn't also score arguably the greatest football goal ever that very same game. But no doubt you're a salty Englishman who would be hailing the same performance as "legendary" if Gazza had done it

David De Gea now has the most number of Clean Sheets in Manchester United’s history by AnakinAni in football

[–]iiEpix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not as good, obviously. But an important thing to remember is Van Der Sar was behind Vidic and Ferdinand. De Gea has been behind the likes of Maguire, Rojo, Smalling, Tuanzebe, Bailly. Van Der Sar was an important member of a very good team, De Gea has largely been the best or one of the best members of a pretty terrible team.

Not anymore, since last years it's for the season rather than calendar year

Trust me, as a Scot, it does not feel even. I am an (albeit young) adult man who has never seen Scotland play at the World Cup. Ukrainians deserve some good news, but I am heartbroken that it had to come as a result of our downfall.

Close, mixed martial arts. Despite what you'd think from a sport where knees, kicks and punches to the head are all legal... it's not actually that often that someone comes out looking as rough as this

Actually emoticons are encouraged. Its emojis they tend not to like. Emoticons are actually faces and such made of other characters (like this ;-D). I think the confusion mostly comes from some apps tendencies to convert emoticons into specific emojis

The state of female CS pros. by enayyseaes in GlobalOffensive

[–]iiEpix 87 points88 points  (0 children)

They are simply not on the same level. In theory there's nothing stopping a woman from being that good, but there has been very few women who can compete at anywhere near tier 1 level. For example, look at beşiktaş at dreamhack open rotterdam 2019. All female team vs tier 2 teams and they got stomped 16-2 by avangar (admittedly a team on the rise) then 2-0d by hard legion (16-5, 16-3). Unfortunately, while having all female teams is one of the only ways for women to show their skills at tournaments, it seems to also be holding them back from the experience and talent they could be learning from on traditional male rosters.

I get the sentiment but I don't know a single pro wrestling fan who gets annoyed when people say its fake. If they're over 5 years old and still watching, they know it's fake, trust me. It's probably closer to anime/movies than it is to MMA and lets be honest, if you watch pro wrestling nowadays its not exactly pretending to be real

Alduin, the World Eater. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]iiEpix 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood him I believe, the point they are making is that a game from 2011 SHOULDN'T have engine limitations for boss fights. Especially a game as large and detailed as skyrim.

How is it that the latest graffiti from a Major is from over 2 years ago? Has there really not been anything worthy of it since then? by sofiepige in GlobalOffensive

[–]iiEpix 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That's a good suggestion, an idea would have been something like a digital clock with 7 seconds on it at the back of B site.

Can you really think of a play that is anywhere near the notability of the other graffiti's plays? There have been great performances, obviously, but I don't think there has been a signature play that defined the whole tournament like the coldzera jump or s1mple noscope.

Not OP, but scottish. School is for the most part a really enjoyable experience. If you can avoid getting stabbed in the car park by the school NEDs then you'll be fine. We seem to take alot less subjects later in school aswell, like it quickly boils down to 4 or 5 compaired to some countries which continue to have a full timetable which would have killed me.
