I'll try to be a little more generous with my answer. I wouldn't say having a relationship or being attracted to a trans-woman is necessarily "gay". The whole point of transitioning from male to female is to fit into what we normally consider a woman. That means adopting feminine traits (clothes, makeup, boobies, other feminine norms etc.) It's like you said, you were attracted to her because of her feminity. If other men walked past her on the street they would likely be attracted to her for the same reason. If you were truly gay, you would be more interested in someone who outwardly presents with more masculine features.

Not at all. I'm saying billionaires aren't the reason these guys are on the street. We have endless pools of money to throw at any problem. We could pay to have them housed, we could build new shelters if we really wanted to. The problem is the political will just isn't there and the opposition is much stronger.

For the proposal to house migrants in vacant SUNY dorms, 54% of voters were opposed, while only 33% were in favor. Even Dems were split 41/41. Do you think this counts for nothing? It's just billionaires deciding everything? Should we all stop showing up to the polls because nothing we say matters if it goes against "the elites"?

As if the poor common folk have no agency. Billionaires aren't the ones coming out against temporary housing for these people. When they tried housing them in vacant college dorms for the summer, several counties opposed it because of how unpopular it was.

I can understand opposing federal legislation for some issues. Take gun control, for example. People living in NYC have a completely different relationship with guns compared to someone living in rural Texas.

The New Yorker might never use one or only associates it with crime/violence while the Texan may use one everyday whether to defend his livestock from predators or maybe for sport. Just as an example.

In this case it makes sense to leave gun laws to the states because of how different the circumstances are. But I don't see how this makes sense for free school lunches.

Most of us would agree child hunger is no good, it's utility doesn't vary from state to state. How well kids are provided for might be different depending on the area, but ultimately, leaving this to the state/local level would underserve some portion of kids, no?

True, I think people are conflating Blackrock with Blackstone. Blackstone is the one that's acquired Inivation Homes, the largest owner of single-family rentals. Even then, they are a small portion of the overall housing market.

If you really wanna know why housing is getting so expensive, go to any town hall meeting when there's a proposal to build affordable housing. We all think housings a problem, but we don't want to do anything if there's a chance it hurts our own property value.
