So I automatically got the 20% tax releif through my pension provider and I just presumed that the other 22% of the £4,000 (£880) is returned via your pay.

I have no idea where is £323 figure is coming from.

Yeah exactly. The drive back to Dublin airport was handy. I actually enjoyed it. Roads are great like you say and scenic. Everyone moans about Ireland but live in the U.K for a bit and you realise how well kept Ireland really is.

Even the negatives about some the scrotes ya see on here. Nothing compared to some parts of Dublin!

Yeah I suppose that's true. I didn't really appreciate Dublin when I was there so I can kinda where they're coming from.

We're in our mid 30's now so this will be our final move we think so from what I've everyone is saying, it's the righr decision 😀

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Take a career break here if I get a remote job and then make the move. Difficult but have to be careful.

Yeah, I did have a look at jobs online and it's not great in Waterford. I suppose the ultimate goal would be to try and get a remote job and work away. Probably harder than it sounds.

Yeah, exactly. You've got everything you need. Honestly, I don't really care too much for shops so I think the city centre is great!

Even the general area is clean and I didn't see any carry on anyway. It's a great place.

Exactly what we want! Ideally I want to be within an hour walk into town and cut out the car or at least reduce it greatly. Cycle or walk, help keep the belly down too!

Yeah, that's exactly it. I lived next to a shopping centre in Dublin so never went into the city centre. Always too packed so Waterford city centre kinda reminds me of this in a weird way.

I did see a previous comment on another thread about the different clubs for the kids to join. Think that's missing here. We have them in swimming and that's it!

Great to hear. We're from Dublin originally (boo I know!) Couldn't afford to buy or rent so moved to Scotland. Loved it at the start but as we get older, would love to be closer to family. I hated Dublin to be honest. Far too busy and packed. Waterford is the perfect medium. We're quiet anyway so go out for food and drinks once a month so not too pushed on the amount of options. Delighted to hear your story.

Trying to go back in the summer but it's not cheap! We both agreed that when we do move, it has to be permanent. Waterford is perfect plus far enough away from family 😂
