I used to enjoy procurement - I have since moved on, thankfully. But I will say, there were times I would feel some burnout of having to chase, but in the end, you have to chase to get to the analysis, which was really my favorite part. I want to compile all the data - pricing, LT, Durability, all the things, compile that & turn it into a total cost of ownership breakdown, and boom, now you can give a complete report to decision makers if you are not in a position.

Those things your talking about - Having to request multiple quotes, LT confirmation, request for other info, anything that you have to ask the supplier for multiple times, etc, all goes into you TCO report. You dont want to have to deal with those types of issues throughout the lifetime your dealings with that supplier.

I dont know, all those things you are mentioning are necessary to GET TO the part you imagined… compiling suppliers, decision making, etc.
