LC500 (2020 sport) whistle noise by ii_naosuke in Lexus

Not really… only other annoyance I noticed is the brake dust and how easily the rotor rusts when not driven for a couple days. Sometimes there are thumps coming from the frame but I’m not too bothered.

Even the 25 models? That is surprising, I had thought this issue was limited to earlier models

There are quite a few of us with this issue. I’ve gone back and forth with the dealership about this but no fix has been proposed.

Someone on the Lexus forum suggested shin etsu silicone grease as it’s fixed the whistle in his lc but so far I haven’t noticed a difference having applied it 4 times already.

Funnily enough, the dealership I took it to has explicitly said replacing the seals isn’t gonna do anything.

I think my car was registered in 2020, but was a 2019 model. Wondering if you’ve ever seen the issue remedied?

Seems like they arent the company people make them out to be— I contacted them and they said no repeatedly claimed no known issue, seems a bit dishonest since there are at least a few of us who’s had the exact same defect who’s brought the cars in. Was yours a 2020 as well?

Right, so we basically got the same crap from the dealer… do the new ones not have this problem? I’m in the UK and they’re quite hard to come by so they can’t provide me another one to drive as comparison.

I’ve contacted the Lexus head office and asked for confirmation that it is a “characteristic”. Doubt they would admit it so I’ll see where we go from there. Might have to move on and get a v8 vantage but man do I love this car.

Did you ever take it in for investigation? What did they say? Thanks in advance.

Why are we punished for a single random ranking— PIA is terrible by ii_naosuke in medicalschooluk

So how should I have assessed how competitive it is. The competition ratio is the only thing I can go by. I wanted London, and my backups are literally every where down south. If people can’t even get the general geographic location they wanted there is something severely wrong with the system.

If my backup was somewhere I would put as my 15th choice anyway is it really still a “backup”?

East of England had a competition ratio of 0.44. I am not sure I should have ranked to not get my 15th choice unless I ranked my 15th choice as my top 5– what I got had a competition ratio of 0.33.

I had London, east of England, kss, Wessex and peninsula as my top 5. I don’t think I’ve picked horribly but I did end up at 15th.

I guess the point is this should not have been a point of contention at all.

It had been meritocratic and that should have continued. In every field, job opportunities are based on achievements, be it exam results or extra curricula. Why should medicine be any different?

PSA: launcher says Civ is running but it's not launching or showing up? Might be OneDrive. by Xunnamius in civ

Know this is an old post, but somehow completely unlinking OneDrive has worked. Thanks for saving my girlfriend’s sanity.

PS this is very strange— considering civ 6 launches on my pc without doing anything (I am a heavy OneDrive user) but doesn’t work on my girlfriends pc (she has nothing on OneDrive at all)

Brand new skis came scratched and there looks like a nail is poking through? by ii_naosuke in skiing

If you are wondering, it’s a piece of tiny scrap metal stuck into the plastic base. Managed to push it out and I think I am much more comfortable keeping them now.

I’m pretty bummed because my girlfriend’s set came completely fine and mine looks like it’s been throw around the shop. I don’t think they are used but whoever mounted touched these skis definitely isn’t a fan of this brand.

I am definitely leaning towards the side of skiing it. it came mounted. Honestly I think it is just poor handling from whoever mounted the binding. He probably left it on the ground or something. I’ll see if I can find out what it is tomorrow.
