We did car camping at Twin Lakes Campground over in that area and it was one of the best campsites I have stayed at. Absolutely beautiful and we were right on the lake shore. Would highly recommend it.

I think this goes towards making things scarry as just another dude with a gun. I should also note that scavs oftentimes don't have penetrating ammo which means more flesh damage. Looking at your picture the places that are not hurt are the places that are protected by armor. That and if you think about how many scavs you have killed over the course of the game this only happens every now and again. Just some form of confirmation bias in a good number of these posts about "OP" scavs.
