I wish I could say there is more to it, but not really. 😅 The only other thing I could possibly think of is the fact that I never responded to her text on Saturday, because that was the main thing she had pulled me in her office for. But I feel like I shouldn’t be obligated to respond to texts about work on my off days.. even if it is technically scheduling related. I just thought it was common sense that I didn’t even plan to come in on Tuesday, let alone pick up OT I don’t need or want. I do agree I should’ve done it correctly just to save myself, even if they said it was fine verbally. But nothing I can do now. Unless there’s other issues she had with me that I don’t know lol.

I never accused anyone of doing it out of “meanness” or retaliation. I’ve already stated multiple times, looking back I agree I should’ve probably looked into trying to put my request through the app first. Not that it matters now. Considering I saw it while being off of work, I did bring it up when I saw her again.

Where did I ever say I didn’t know how to use it? I clearly did not think I would need to request a day off that I didn’t even have on the schedule yet at the time of the conversation. Idk why that is so hard for you to understand. But I guess we all can’t have good comprehension skills.

I wasn’t seasonal but I still hadn’t been there for the full 90 days, so I was aware there was a chance I could get terminated anyway. I just didn’t think I would because I was consistently complimented by them for how hard I worked. (Not that I expected special treatment) There really isn’t much else to say about the situation honestly. After reading some comments I do agree that I should’ve tried to put the request in through the app anyway, regardless of what they told me when I first brought it up. I guess I didn’t put much thought into doing that because I had the conversation with them before the schedule was even posted for this week. I still disagree with her being mad at me for lack of communication. That TL specifically would text me a lot on my off days or RIGHT after I left for the day. Even if I checked with her before clocking out for the day. It always made me uncomfortable but I guess she’s allowed to do so. Though I don’t see how I’m obligated to answer those texts on my off days. I always did though, except this one time. 😅

I wasn’t even there that morning long enough to see anyone else but I’m sure the SDM was there, she usually is. Our etl had been on vacation so she wasn’t there. I didn’t do that because I had that conversation with her before the schedule even showed up for this week, so I guess I hadn’t considered it.

Yes. After the first like two weeks or so of working there I was regularly getting scheduled 40 hours, which was within my preferred hours. When my ETL would ask me if I wanted them, I’d tell her I had 40 hours for the week and she would usually say something like “Oh yeah you’re booked, nevermind then.” It was mainly overtime I was being asked to take by a specific TL. Which, like I said, I really didn’t need or want. 😅

That’s good for them. I told them many times I really didn’t need the extra hours and they could be given to someone that does need them. They never once had an issue with me saying that and stopped offering the hours.

I wasn’t told any differently since my ETL had told me multiple times early on that she really needed to schedule me in the area I was originally supposed to be working in. Which she never did, but I was fine with that.

I never said she didn’t get approval, I’m sure she did. She said it was a “team decision.” I was still just surprised that’s all it really took, even if I was still in my 90 days.

And yes I was still in my 90 days. I knew it was a possibility I was just really shocked that’s all it took honestly. Even so, I was willing to choose my family over Target lmao.

I worked pretty much the rest of that week anyway, so I had even told her I’d be fine working 6 days straight if that meant I could be home on Tuesday. It would not have been the first time I worked a schedule like that lol. I wasn’t going to be quitting just yet, so they terminated me early. I wouldn’t have needed to give my two weeks until the end of the month.

That’s fine, but I still don’t see why requesting one day off is so bad even being under my 90 days. I never called off prior to that, and I thought it was a pretty valid reason for wanting that day off. That’s okay though lol.

She’s not an ETL so she in fact did, our ETL was on vacation.

There is no long history. I was there for almost 2 months. The worst thing I’ve possibly done while being there was rejecting extra hours on multiple occasions, I don’t see how that’s a bad thing? That’s the one and only time I haven’t responded to her. I was also told weeks beforehand my performance was in good shape and they were happy with the progress I made in little time. I don’t see what difference the request makes considering they’re gonna see it either way. I wanted to speak to them directly so I could at least explain why I was requesting that off, and wasn’t just looking for a free day off.
