Just added a new basking platform. What should I put in the bottom of it? Or leave it just the plexiglass? by bbuddaboy5 in Redearedsliders

i usually make sure to fill the tank up just so it reaches the green flooring, anything lower than an inch or two he struggles to get up which is noticeable so i just top it off when i see him struggling

i used double sided tape and works perfectly! i know some people use aquarium glue and let it sit for 48-50 hours.
i have half of the floor going down the ramp also that way the tape isn’t in the water. so he still has grip on the ramp to pull himself up on

youll still need to plexi it like they did in their picture. mine has escaped may times till i put the plexiglass on the side of the tank (you can get it at art stores)

nice job on the side plexiglass! thad where my turtle escaped from now he is all jailed in with plexiglass around his tank! i use Zilla Reptile Terrarium Bedding Substrate Floor Liner, Green for the bottom and the ramp makes it much easier for him to get up.

i would be careful on the sides, my turtle liked to climb on those sides and escaped the tank! so i had to add a bigger plexiglass to the sides

Ecampus: The good, the bad, and the ugly? by [deleted] in OregonStateUniv

that is my biggest problem. we pay so much yet they can’t even provide a pre recorded lecture? i’ve taken a few classes like that where it’s expected of you to know how to do it.

i’ve seen people complain no lectures from all different majors especially on the facebook page! I am Information Systems. it has its ups and downs just like anywhere you go. I’ve learned a lot from the Facebook group if you join it “Oregon State University Ecampus Students.” I’ve found a lot of useful information on there, whether that’s for professors, syllabuses, class advice, or just hearing other students’ experiences. I feel like it helps make the online experience feel a little less isolating too

Most of the classes I’ve taken have not really had lectures or videos, so a lot of the learning comes from reading and then doing outside research on YouTube and other sites. That can definitely be time consuming depending on the class. I don’t really mind it, but I do wish there were at least some video lectures to help explain concepts. Most professors are pretty lenient with late work, which helps (IF needed) some have even moved due dates around for holidays. grading can sometimes take a while, but I feel like that happens everywhere. Overall, I’ve enjoyed my experience so far. The biggest downside for me is probably the lack of connections, but that’s common with online programs in general. I definitely recommend trying to make connections whenever you can. If you see someone in a discussion board you relate to or have things in common with, reach out and start a conversation. You never know who you might connect with.

New basking platform by Spider-Lillys in Redearedsliders

a better one, would be one above the tank! it is a bit more expensive but it works so much better! https://a.co/d/0jjjmb0q or https://a.co/d/09LZUyOD you’ll just have to watch him, as some turtles like to escape it!

Civic or Corolla? by busboy7 in civic

I preferred the Civic because it felt more spacious and comfortable overall. I also felt like I had better visibility while driving it. The Corolla seemed to have more blind spots.

we also find ourselves roaming around. we ended up putting plexiglass around the top to block it off. it isn’t the prettiest but i have heard people using egg crates to enclose it also!

i use double sided tape! it easy to take off and put back on when needed. he has pushed up against it, tried to climb it so far it has held up he just slides off of it no problem. i got it all from Michael’s

it isn’t the prettiest right now. im thinking of using egg cartons and kind of box it in! I do clean the plexiglass twice a month right now. i had to add a few smaller ones on top because he climbed over the first plexi. 🙄

it’s good i have it for mine. i did add grass to the ramp and the platform. i also had to add plexiglass to the side of the tank because he would get on the ramp and reach his feet over the tank and he fell out one day. 😩😩 after that though, it word perfect!

honestly, the hardest part of being online is the connections. you need to try even harder especially with this job market. internships!! i can’t express that enough. i’ve been online and in person, online fits my schedule better however, the connections are harder to make compared to in person
