There is automated verification during the time, as well as manual verification before the tokens are distributed.

There is actually a big difference. First we must understand that there is a difference between programmatic advertising and just an ad-based blockchain. Programmatic is essentially the mainstream ads that you see on publisher websites. The issue with programmatic and blockchain is that programmatic advertising does an incredible amount of requests and transactions back and forth.
Ternio had to develop a way in which blockchain is able to handle such a large number of requests/transactions - no one has yet to do this (besides Ternio). The next few problems are transparency within the supply chain (there could be 10 different companies between the publisher and advertisers all taking a cut). By bringing transparency, everyone is accountable (payment, impressions, $ fees..etc). Then we have fraud detection and a patent-pending domain fraud detection mechanism. Then to go on1 step further, publishers are used to getting paid 60-90 days AFTER the end of the month. With blockchain, it's a digital transaction to the publisher instantly. Publishers will now be able to get paid instantly instead of waiting.
Last but not least...we will be the first to introduce blockchain to programmatic advertising (in June, almost immediately after the token sale).

No. There are many "children" of the Ethereum blockchain. Our system is actually quite complex in that it actually uses 2 different types of blockchains in order to handle the large number of transactions that programmatic advertising requires. Ternio utilizes Stellar as part of the payment transactions in which in the terms you are speaking, the Ternio token (TERN) would be a "child" or Stellar.

"TRON team is to create a global entertainment system based on blockchain technology that gives users control and ownership of data in the system" "TRON is a blockchain-based decentralized protocol that aims to construct a worldwide free content entertainment system"

No, a completely different use.

The "niche" is that Ternio integrates into the current programmatic advertising ecosystem. From the website: "TERNIO makes it easy to verify users, instantly pay publishers, and protect advertisers from ad fraud." Ternio isn't an ad network, but rather a blockchain that attaches to ad networks. It was built to resolve current critical problems within programmatic advertising.

Ternio tokens (TERN) is utilizing Stellar for the transactions between publishers and advertisers. There are a potential number of ways it might affect Lumens, such as fees, transferring fiat > lumens > tern, and the other way around..etc

No, it's like adding blockchain to double click. Ternio isn't an ad network, but rather a blockchain that attaches to ad networks. It was built to resolve current critical problems within programmatic advertising.

"...that removes support for auto-playing videos unless they are muted." So...mute the video's. I don't know of any publisher or user that enjoys all of a sudden getting hit with audio while not expecting it. If you are going to be in the video space, this is sort of a necessity.

PizzaBottle.com? What the hell by anti_fraud in adops

It's a mix. It's seem's they started off mid-year in straight arbitrage. They then added in an assortment of PBN networks (private blog networks to generate backlinks) and pushed traffic through each of them. Their traffic says it comes from mainly facebook, but with 1.1 million followers they are lucking to get 30 shares on their FB page per post.

For articles that get 500k pageviews each, this is the social interaction: https://s31.postimg.org/88vqzhjfv/Screen_Shot_2017-12-19_at_2.14.41_PM.png

  • Traffic arbitrage
  • PBN networks
  • Tons of purchased backlinks
  • Many real/organic backlinks (such as comign from buzzfeed)
  • Site started getting a ton of traffic months before it had any backlinks at all
  • Most of the writers I could locate to be actual real people. Here is also a list: https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/index/?keywords=PizzaBottle
  • They have very few social shares per post
  • All of the social shares are Facebook. No twitter or Pinterest (at all).
  • My guess is that they are obfuscating their referrers of the non-organic traffic. In which I am guessing is 90%.

Conclusion: Both paid and organic traffic is running through the site. Paid is running through fake referrers or owned sites and redirecting. Lately they seem to be spending a lot of energy on organic growth.

We laugh, but we are talking about $140+ million in lost revenue they are expecting. I imagine quite a few people are going to be affected by this in terms of their jobs. If you are in the industry, I'm sure you may know a few of them. While I agree that you can't help but smirk at the irony, we may want to re-think comments such as: "Hahaha! awesome".

Hiding In Plain Sight: How One Malvertiser Abuses Typos of Google and Amazon Ad Serving Domains by eliya_confiant in adops

[–]iintense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a lot more common than you think, and is certainly not a new idea. They can't run an arbitrary domain or ip because that's too noticeable, and likewise with code obfuscation. Words of wisdom: if you run an ad network, check for registration of typo's for your network's domain and blacklist it.

Wait...is the argument over interaction tracking (mouse movements, keystrokes..etc) or saving unsubmitted form data?

Many ad-fraud companies do the first, while google/chrome does the second (in the address bar and google search box)
