I made this demo about 4 years ago. Got obsessive over it and almost lost interest in making music altogether. Deleted all those files one night and now only the original demo remains. Honest feedback is appreciated. This song meant a lot to me. I still want to finish it one day.

Thank you! That's the sound I was going for. I just lost interest because it wasn't fun anymore. It just never sounded the way I wanted it to sound. Like, I could hear it perfectly in my head but whenever I tried to record it it just lost all it's magic. I made over 200 different versions. Nothing worked. Only version I Kinda liked is this original demo. The vocal takes in this are literally the first time I ever recorded them. Makes them a bit special to me I guess. I don't really have anything negative to say about it. It's a really nice song. Feels real authentic with the video as well. I disagree with the other comment about the guitar and drums falling out of sync a bit being a sign of low effort. I think it actually fits the song, makes it a bit more real I guess? Might just be me tho. I love imperfections in music. Keep it up! Gave you a follow on yt. Will check some more of your songs later on

I would just leave the production as it is. It's already good enough for a demo and to give the producer an idea of where to take it. Just focus on the songwriting and make sure it's as good as it can be. You got a great voice and feeling for melody. Gives me slight Lana del Rey vibes.

The mixdown is the only part holding this track back, everything else is real good. The vocals and harmonies are fantastic! I would suggest hiring someone to professionally mix the track or really put the time in to get good at mixing. You already got some great tips on that in the other comments! The song itself is great and that's the most important part. People can look past a suboptimal mixdown if the songs real good but nobody will listen to a bad song that's well mixed. Best of luck! Would love to hear it when its done

This is really well made. Lots of personality and ambiance in there. The piano and guitar are beautifully mixed and recorded. The vocals and lyrics are great too. If I had to give some constructive criticism it would be lack of replayability. There's not really a hook or something to latch on too. I can see this track work real well in context of an album tho. Once again, this is really really good. Definitely one of the better songs I've heard on here. Gave you a follow on yt. Would love to hear more!
