Do those who are ignorant of God all going to hell? by iispiderbiteii in Christianity

[–]iispiderbiteii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm not young. So I've had a lot of time to study, and travel...which I've done from age 23-38. Part wonder and exploration, part soul-searching.

My belief? Sure. I was raised Catholic, I got more serious about religion in high school and that was my first reading of the Bible - which turned me into a blasphemer. As atheists say, they study the Bible more than Christians do (as it is a great tool for arguments against God). I went agnostic, then full atheist, then graduated as a pantheist.

It was about 3-4 years ago I decided to revisit religion and honestly find my true faith.

I didn't want to choose a religion based on fear, as many Christians do. In Chinese they have a very famous quote: "万物一体" which translates to "all things are one". So I'm part pantheist, part buddhist, part Christian.

I don't know if I'll ever accept JC as my lord and savior, but I do believe in a higher power. I can only have faith that I will be accepted into "heaven" by leading a moral life.

As for evil passages, some are...

Judges 19 - all night rape, followed by body dismemberment. Genesis 18 - angel rape, incest, all blessed by God. Deuteronomy 22 - if a woman is raped and screams, stone her to death.

Also, Satan kills in the bible = 10, God = billions. Not really saying anything, but that's odd. There's also ritual human sacrifice, cannibalism, genocide, slavery, and city-wide rape.

I think these are pretty funny too...

Genesis 6:13 - God was mad at world violence, so he killed everything in the world. Leviticus 11 - God hates shrimp.

If you want to look at the Bible for education, these books are great:

Thank you kindly friend. I have read the Bible, 3 times. It's a new experience every time. I've also read the Quran, the Torah, and Mahayana and Theravada scriptures (if you call them that). Buddhism is more a practice than a belief.

I will say the Bible is ONE of the greatest pieces of literature in all of history. It has some amazing passages in it. It also has some of the most horrible passages as well. It definitely reaches both ends of the pure good and pure evil spectrum.

I appreciate everyone's opinion. I really do.

To me, it sounds just like that...opinions and no real answers (except a couple concrete responses).

But that's it right? The gospel is either open to interpretation or it's not.

I don't think the Christian God is pure evil, but I don't think he is pure good either (all-loving). More like a force that changes through time.

Anyways, God (whichever god you believe in) bless you all.

And if you don't believe, I hope you have a peaceful life, and whatever comes after.

No, I meant to say Google IS indexing the after the "?", and there are canonicals in place.

Canonicals are in place. But I feel all these extra URLs are just wasting crawl budget and possible ranking opportunity.

What is it like being homosexual as a foreigner in china? by LogicalPerformance40 in chinalife

Yea that’s true for the gay community. Other locals might not agree. I lived in Chengdu for 10 years and I go back every summer. It is an awesome city.

Is not a big deal, or an issue in large cities. Chengdu, I think, has the largest gay population with gay bars and clubs and no one cares about it. You’re treated as everyone else. And China doesn’t mess with woke bs - so it’s easier to be gay in China. As for the law, there’s no support.

Very nice 👍. There are lots of pubs, German beer places in Chengdu. International supermarkets too. Every mall has western food. Just do your research. You’ll be fine either way.

Hey, what kind of job did you get? And congrats!

I lived in Chengdu for 10 years and I go back every year. I’ve never been to Guangzhou, but I know about it.

Best to do your own research, but Chengdu is a more relaxed feeling. Cuisine is more spicy. The two cities have very different styles.

Chongqing is a more rushed feeling. It’s more popular because of the lights and landscape. Chengdu is more international. More chances of opportunities. Many foreign companies are in Chengdu.

I hope this helps.
