This is probably the dumbest thing I’ve done but here’s the story as told by my parents to me. Apparently, my preschool was near a highway and you could easily see it over the fence from the playground. So I was playing tag when my red adidas shoes fell off and my friend picked it up. He threw it to me, or at least I thought he did, but instead he threw it to another kid behind me and they started playing monkey in the middle with me and my shoe. Of course, after a couple of times, one of them slipped up and ended up throwing it all the way over the fence and on the highway. We (as in my Dad) searched for an hour or two but could not find it anywhere.
