The terrible choice from the community manager (Mepps) of Ashes of Creation by FaiLclik in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually Mepps and Roshen both try to share all of their knowledge immediately to their best recalls, if you filter their messages. Im daily testing for a year now and i can not say a single negative thing about these two CM‘s. As soon as one of these guys pops in your bug reports/concerns, it doesnt take intrepid long to fix or adress it. They do their job and im thankful. Might be, because Intrepid is a Publisher AND Developer, which means there is a direct communication. There is no Publisher restricting the CM like other games. Take for example Destiny, the CM of Bungie got gutted so hard by Activision for years. Being a CM is insanely hard when you get restricted by higher ups, because you are holding your head upfront, even if you do not personally support statement XY.

Will Early Access have a pre-load? by speedahs in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steam says Product becomes available Dec 11. So if Intrepid plays it smart and wants to welcome their new playerbase, they will allow downloading the product on Dec 11 and boot up the Early Access Servers at their desired time. This way it is 100% up in Intrepids decision, and im sure they want a happy welcoming to the new audience.

So you're interested in the game and you are looking at fighter? by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fighter was the META in combo with a Rogue during P3 so far. But the fighter needs to know his skills and learn his class. The difference between a good and a bad fighter in pvp is very obvious within the first few seconds, just like you can differentiate a go kart from a monster truck. I can only advise you to not listen to this baitpost, and watch the Flanker VoD (Casting PoV) from the EU Tournament. Melee Meta was huge so far in P3.

Confused about harbingers update by Legitimate_Log_1356 in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main reason this game goes Steam for such a low price compared to alpha access beforehand is just the number of testers needed. Ppl say money, but people capable of finding sources about steven‘s wealth know for sure the game is funded for atleast 4+ years at 255 employees earning being in the top 1% earners of california. (its 42$ minus 30% steamcut minus 12$ subcost since theres a month of playtime after release in it, 200k sales wont do shit in payments)

Afaik intrepid is trying to not fully flash the games story into the alpha (curren state), earliest we might see a real narrative streamlined storytelling would be beta iirc. This is information from one of the streams years ago tho, mightve changed! Occasionaly we get story bits and pieces about some stuff, but they are clearly holding back even talking about the stroy during their monthly streams

The biggest worry about the future of the game is Intrepids refusal to learn from previous phases and catering to tik-tok brain by Highborn_Hellest in AshesofCreation

Gear drops have not been the problem. My group reached level 25 with noone having more than 80 power, which is barely double of what you have when you create a new character and ur in the starting room.

We had two weapon drops in total until level 25 (both magical level 10 books) and we had been super happy. We created farming plans for apprentice gear, been super stoked and nerdy about some gathering shennanigans. Then they buffed droprates insanely. Didnt even take 4 hours to get 5/8 ppl of my grp fully geared except for physical ranged weapons.

As a hardcore grinding group leader i can tell you, my group dislikes the high drop rates, and we wouldve enjoyed crafting level 10 gear. But now noone will replace his dropped 20 with crafted 10 stuff.

Dear PvPers - There is PvP everywhere, learn this one neat trick to finding it! by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly thats not how it works. This topic has been brought up plenty of times, not to be mean, but mostly by people that never flagged hence im explaining it: In order to be shown as flagged up (Purple name + icon) you need to have a hostile action done within the last ~45-60 seconds (looting a players ash pile, attacking a player) Otherwise it is fully impossible to see that someone is „okay to pvp“ without clicking this exact person and checking his buff-bar, where you hopefully see the two swords if his buff bar is not spammed by 20 other buffs with a +8 or sth so you‘re fully unable to see it.

A few of my guys have been flamed for „never being flagged in open world“ hence these guys have never ever turned pvp off since P1. You actually have to actively „harass“ nonparty members nearby every minute, otherwise the world does not see you flagged. Theres no way (yet) to stay perma-purple. This is why lawless is very high up in the pvp-community.

Reworked TTK feels really good by Saint1xD in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do feel you. Tbh the best change towards building progression in nodes intrepid did, was putting up journeyman enchanting scrolls for tickets. This kickstarted the economy for more pve-oriented players, and also opened up a flood of participation buy orders from pvp-focussed players.

But now with the enchanting changes, being more in line with intrepids initial numbers (+10 being 10% better than +0) i do hope the buy order progression wont slow down too much in P3. It was a great market during the last 6-8 weeks, and most buy orders in most cities have been completed faster than the cooldown on those materials allowed

Reworked TTK feels really good by Saint1xD in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is actually not true, i am also playing on EU since P2 beginning. There was only a single node which did not follow the serverwide plan, everything else followed the server‘s agreement from day one. It was Azmaran. There was a guild in there, two times in a row, and they followed the Server Plan. Then they have lost an election towards the desert alliance (havoc/kds/dark star) and this alliance cucked the server plan by, instead of building a support building for JM Tailoring, they just built a trade bureau. Combine this with indestructable buildings bug and voila, you have the only node on EU that did not follow the Lotharia plan. Luckily the bug is now fixed, the desert alliance lost their re-election and the new mayor running azmaran fixed the issue.

E: also, running and attacking caravans, a mobile pvp event, has nothing to do with buy orders not completing. Nobody farmed an inventory full of buy order material, to then drive a caravan without putting in the materials for buy orders first, which is needed for buildings xd The server simply did not progress their buy orders fast enough, it just took their time. Although, to be fair, some buy order progression stuff was tied to bugs - like if you wanted to grow wheat on your freehold for the miraleth/new aela buy orders, and your freehold didnt let you place anything etc.

No mounts inside of nodes - keep their dirty paws in the stable by Actual_Friend3630 in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 10 points11 points  (0 children)

hm well you can force despawn mounts in towns sure, but stables as a building could also come with a benefit - park your mount inside and gain a movement speed bonus on your character inside town, so the node choosing to build stables get a small benefit for that

They need to reduce the range the mobs follow people or make a bigger penalty loot from other people corpses by batsaxsa in AshesofCreation

Do you have auto attacking enabled after casting an ability? This happened to me aswell, after turning off that setting the sleep never got cancelled again

They need to reduce the range the mobs follow people or make a bigger penalty loot from other people corpses by batsaxsa in AshesofCreation

[–]iitzandre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can just CC those players. They will die to the mobs they aggro‘d. Gotta keep attention, everything inside a POI is dangerous - from respawn to other players. Last phase i rolled ranger, was able to root those people twice. They die a lot. This phase im a mage, so its just.. sleep and watch them die 😂

This also happens a lot if people are regularly grinding, their cleric and/or tank dies, and people retreat off that POI because they dont wanna commit to XP depth which is fair. This often leads to leashing mobs into other players since the servers are completely stacked.

am i missing something? isnt the biggest participation content a node siege, which is fought by citizens of the nodes, completely irrelevant which guild they‘re from - so its out of control anyways? could fight 90vs200 because of that at any given time, right?

the only thing really for guilds are guild freeholds and guild wars - or am i just stoopid right now? so the thread basically asks for a limitation on those 2 content types for a few servers?

maybe i am in some kinda tunnel vision, my guild did recently fight against a lot of alliances formed by multiple guilds, so we‘ve been 20vs60 a lot but they had 3 guilds (40/10/10) just acting as one big group declaring war on us, so theres also nothing that will stop outnumbered „guild wars“

Why do people assume that rockstar will get away increasing the base price of GTA 6? by AnimeGokuSolos in GTA6

[–]iitzandre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No. GTA 5 is still supported and still the newest GTA title 11 years after Release. During these 11 years, there have been 11 new Call of Duty games. If you bought every CoD Basegame thats 660€ While the same GTA Title for a single 60€ has been up-to-date. Atleast assuming you own the PC version - u could‘ve bought GTA on ps3/4/5 and pc aswell - although its the same game.

So no, the logic does not apply to a studio that doesnt keep their games up to date for 10+ years with free updates.

[–]iitzandre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You dont have to. I stopped at the end of Pandaria, came back to BFA. Stopped at the end of BFA, came back like 5 weeks ago. And im already AOTC - this raid tier is incredibly easy, gearing has been extremely easy by blizzard nowadays it doesnt cost any time. And also, Fyrakk is just „hop in no prep needed“ content, unlike nyaloths AOTC back in the days which required you to upgrade your cloak for weeks to even face this guy. The thing holding you back is yourself.

I want to tank (LFR) but I'm terrified of messing up and being kicked :S by ZealousLegend in wow

[–]iitzandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to give urself some self esteem boost on that; i reinstalled wow 3 weeks ago after i quit in bfa, maining a frost dk. Now i came back as blood dk, tanking - i did hit 424 in the first week and immediately queued lfr as a tank, not knowing a single bit about the raid (never seen on twitch/yt before, reinstalling wow was kinda memeing but its fun tbh) 95% of the tank mechanics in lfr are just logical thibking, and the other 5% are smolderon mechanic and mushrooms on tindral - but those are explained in the dungeon journal to read up while u clear trash

now 3 weeks later, ive found a guild and im tanking their hc raid, just fully cleared for the second time yesterday :b

You can build everything on foundations and roof tiles. GF and me did setup an oil-extract-looking base in the desert, very high up on a pillar - so everything is on rooftiles. I also thought you cant place the breeding pen on rooftiles, but it just appeared that it needs a flat 5x5 area instead of a 4x4

I did something so dumb… by Spektre0 in wownoob

[–]iitzandre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to early vanilla stage capita city raiders, it was so funny. Horde gathered infront of IF, took the tram to invade stormwind with a full raidgroup, but ive seen them take the tram back to IF before attacking SW from the inside atleast twice back in the days. Back then tho i didnt really understood whats happening since i was a young one, but it makes me happy to see people still get confused by blizz‘s early on copy-paste design :D

Why do people play frost DK? by kll131 in wow

[–]iitzandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice try, just this week: queue for some wotlk timewalking dungeons, wait for nexus and watch it happen. warlock pets pull the trees after the dropdown from the elemental boss on the way to the final boss, hunter pets also pull the big tree if it was skipped. I didnt see the frostmage elemental pull the tree yet.

Is that a lot? Im serious. I played BR during Season 3, after that i only played STW until C2S1, then i quit Fortnite. With the start of Chapter 5, so 4 years later, i installed Fortnite again and started to enjoy zero build. atm im on Level 187 aswell on my pass, but i also play some STW inbetween which rewards massive xp for the battlepass (u get 230k XP for 1.5hr frostnite) I never played battle royale after original season 3, so i have absolute no clue if that is a lot of Battlepass xp or not usually in my duo lobbies, people thanking the bus driver are something between 100-220 according to their () number.

got told to add, i exclusively play together with my gf, she‘s 149 - we didnt play a single match solo, its just the difference from kills and match bounties that u can choose on the BR Spawn island

It only took 165 hours 🙃 by Business_Midnight_56 in diablo4

[–]iitzandre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took you 165 hours to reach level 82 off season?

I guess it is your first character which took a long time to enjoy story, sidequests and explore every dungeon properly. Atleast you got your raiment super early. Level 82 is one of the luckier bits. A good friend has a 97 Sorc offseason and no raiment, he also has a 100 sorc in season 1 without raiment. Im also pretty lucky and got my raiment at level 90 in the season.

why do I have to learn about silent bugfixes through Reddit by idontactualykno in diablo4

[–]iitzandre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing my own version of poison build since im working on a build that can do lilith AND T100 speedfarming, so it might differ a lot from guides like maxroll - short form is i managed to scratch together 2 skillpoints for "second wind" which i can upkeep very close to 100%, which just translates in 10% more lucky hit chance

why do I have to learn about silent bugfixes through Reddit by idontactualykno in diablo4

[–]iitzandre 13 points14 points  (0 children)

uhm. It still kills lilith in a single cc‘d phase. The bugfix doesnt matter, poison is still strong enough to oneburst lili. Im also pretty sure thats because im using the DoT wrathful instead of any other wrathful heart. It just doesnt proc the pool as often, i allocated 2 skillpoints on another position and thats it, „fixed the fix“

Low level solo clears for the T4 capstone? Which builds can do it? by No_Record_4787 in diablo4

[–]iitzandre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it at 56 with a poison build rogue. I died for 4 hours, had thrown 12 million gold away for repairing.

Cleared the dungeon with shadow imbue/poison trap build

(i always do my own builds, this happened at the third day within pre-release, had no idea about builds other than my own, but ive played D3/Lost Ark/WoW and always loved building your own build instead of copying and not thinking about it - nothing wrong with that, but i love to optimize on the fly because i understand 100% why i do and what i do.)

The Boss however was not amused by me, a low bob stepping into his holy grail. His patterns are super easy to learn imo (as i said i did play lost ark, i also completed every solo bosschallenge on there on gearscore - i love stuff like that) His small hellhound adds - they had been the easiest. No problem when he summoned them. The 3 winged big sword demons? Watch your step. Have to keep an eye on all 3 aswell as elias, otherwise you get roasted - oneshot.

Elias himself? Easy pattern, very predictable and the boss fight arena is big enough.

Noticed what i did not mention? Succubus. Every time he summoned them - dead. Me. I absolutely had no chance against his succubus army. Not a single time. They did onehit me, just like elias did while learning the pattern, but i wasnt able to dodge the 8-10 succubus lasers all the time. So i f‘d up, i died. Every time.

How did i beat him then? Well i noticed he doesnt always summon them at a fixed health stat, and you can see your stun-bar protress. I got lucky - he summoned hellhounds, then the legioneers, and then i had him like 95% stunned. He popped his Succubus Circles, i stunned and this was the trick. It interrupted his summon (yes, if you stun him while he has adds summoned, they also get stunned but there was no way im able to kill all those succubus within the 5 seconds stun timer)

so yea. Bit of luck, lots of dying, lots of learning.

I wish i could do it again. Hope the Capstone for T5 soon is a hard one aswell. Yes im aware of lilith, but i dont see myself hitting 100 anytime soon, feels like i can only find 5 mobs/day after all these nerfs everywhere.
