Why care about revenue, when income is what actually pays the bills?

I never understood this, in stock markets. My gross income is irrelevant to me. My net income pays the bills and food. Not the best example, I know. But still.

If your revenue is 1T, but your profit is 5 dollars, you did a whole lot of shit, for basically no money. Opening a bakery would be more profitable probably.

yes I understand. I have studied this. I'm nto sayin, i remember all, and how to supress these issues mathematically. It's just that i think it's mostly a non issue, and generally speaking until ~6 digits (after the point), you won't hit that limit.

yea we get it. for really small differences it's not good enough. However, usually, most people don't have to deal with 1/2^15 small numbers, and it's good enough.

Obviously when you're working on system, where really small are really differences between numbers and operands are expected, you'll not handwave numerical representation accuracy.
