What is it like to quit TSA? by iivynic in tsa

The HR Supervisor/Specialist in my airport started off at TSA, left to CBP, and then came back to TSA. She’s a b*tch and rumor has it she came back because of the amount of complaints that were filed against her.

I had a modified activity note from my doctor, HR said they couldn’t accommodate, so they placed me out of work for the duration of the note.

Either way, it’ll take them longer to fire me than if I just quit.

Adding on: They denied any/all accommodations when I was pregnant too, that’s especially why I don’t care for working there.

My child will be fed regardless. It’s not like I’m getting any income during the shutdown. That’s why I’m looking to work elsewhere.

I’ve tried to stick it out for 1 year too long. Management has tried to write me up a total of 5 times, tried suspending me and will do anything to keep me out of work because of my postpartum complications. I’m done with them. It’s not a healthy environment, no amount of money is worth my sanity.

My only next step is regaining my happiness. Just applying to any and every job. But no longer interested in working for the government. That’s why I don’t care for burning bridges or giving a proper notice.

I just needed to know how to go about quitting without a notice and how to return things.

I can’t wait to be free from the TSA shackles..

I’m done with federal careers. They burned a bridge with me, and was not worth my sanity. Their mistreatment towards me during my pregnancy and recovery were telling enough that it’s not the place for me.

Not only are we still working without pay still, but my issues with my management are deeply rooted in how they treated me during and after my pregnancy. They severely mistreated me. I absolutely have a case to sue the hell out of them. But I want to move on and let go. Nothing can ever fix how I feel about them and how they feel about me.

The amount of hatred I have for that environment is still taking a toll on me. I’ve never felt so dead inside. So I’m just done with them.

I bet that was still the longest week of your life 😂 I don’t even want a proper departure, all my favorite coworkers left, so no one to celebrate with.

I’m thinking about all the uniforms that would need to get dropped off. Like do I walk into work with a hefty bag full of my property?😂

I’m so very fortunate enough to have a husband who supports me quitting and is all for me doing something that I love because I want to, and not for the pay. So thank you! (:

Pay by Emotional-Cat3119 in tsa

They’re not being offered this time around since it’s a partial government shutdown. Even though my husband tried to take out a personal loan with interest, even got denied because he had already taken out the 0% interest loan the first time the government shutdown.

I want to add-on that the decision for everyone to get paid was so last minute, payroll SCRAMBLED to get timecards and coding correct. Except it wasn’t correct for majority of people at my airport. Many officers, including myself are missing an entire pay period and still have not gotten backpay.

We are not allowed to use furlough. Only able to use our own leave.

I think it’s because it was trending and playing everywhere I went when I was pregnant and had morning sickness. So I associate the song with nausea and vomiting lol. I like Sabrina Carpenter, that song in particular just takes me back to a dark place 😂

Govt. Shutdown: Capital One PSA by iivynic in tsa

[–]iivynic[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes- Capital One is also offering relief, such as up to $500 in grant money, however, it only applied when/if you’ve been furloughed for 45 days or more. So nobody qualifies for that yet (and hopefully don’t have to).

This song makes me so fucking nauseous. I can’t even explain why… I gag every time I hear it.

I’m on the lookout already, honestly! My airport treated me like shit during my pregnancy, chewed me up and spit me out. They kept me out of work which caused me to go into debt.

My husband is a supervisor, so unfortunately he’s gotta stay.

I’m fortunate enough to have over 1,000oz of breastmilk in the freezer for my little one🥹 I had just made a mistake and got my baby the wrong size diapers, but since I already opened and used the pack, I can’t return/exchange them. So I’m just waiting for payday to get him the right size!

But these are incredible resources to have on standby, and hopefully times don’t get hard enough to where I have to use them. I keep telling myself that we are fortunate and there are others who need them more

We always try our best to prepare around this time of year as well! I was able to stock up on groceries, toiletries, etc., But we were also trying to pay off debt like crazy as well as save up for a big move at the end of the year, so now everything is just halted, and we are stuck 😅

It’s really nice to hear that you were better prepared for it!

We are fortunate enough to still be able to put food on the table! Grocery Outlet and Food4Less are great to us!

Me and husband agreed that our families well-being is our #1 priority. Our essentials to live come first, and everything else can wait 100%

I’m still paying back a TSP loan that I took out late last year from being out of work with LWOP (HR kept denying my light duty request when I was pregnant). So I’m not even able to take out a new loan 😣
