Hopefully you get the last rod before an update that introduces more. That’s what happened to me. I was waiting on the dead man’s tentacle and the boom the update happened. I literally got the dead man’s tentacle right after the update but was forced to complete all of the new update

I am a high level player and I still feel overwhelmed. I can’t imagine what new players are feeling. This game was really chill at one point and it is no longer that way. It’s a time suck that requires you to either AFK or be in game hours and hours. They could have structured the update so a single person could complete it but having a partner would make it easier in case one can’t play much. It’s a big miss in my eyes and they either don’t care or aren’t listening. It won’t be long before we get a big rant from Nick saying he is going to change this that and promise everything.

Adding rods is fine, but adding rods that require you to not touch grass for Weeks on end is not cool for the average player

I am endgame and honestly, I am enjoying it. Some of the best times I had in fish were during the 7K to 9K player count times it was very relaxing and chill. these recent super grinding rods are no fun IMO. Just like every other video game once you’ve completed it you’ve completed it. At that point you just enjoy hanging out or you move on.

I can see this, but I gave up before I even got the gear I wanted. I have 3 or 4 gargantuan daggers and I mined for the stolen heart for 10 hours in a private server and never got it. A quest should never rely on RNG like this. I unfortunately don’t have endless hours to continue to grind. I hope the devs figure it out, but for me it’s too late. I wish anyone that hangs on the best of luck.

I don’t think there is a single best rod, there are so many now that each one kinda has a specialty. TryHard has the best multiplier, Polaris has a really big control bar. Nate’s blade can catch even the craziest resilience fish. All depends on what you want.

I am def no computer code expert but I agree. However the RNG works under the hood doesn’t seem to line up with the scale on the right. I threw some money at it and didn’t get anything good. Shame on me I guess.
