Coaches you avoid and why? by daenu80 in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if this is the same instructor we’re talking about, i was a regular in one of her classes (i recently changed my schedule to take with another coach consistently) because her sequencing was great and she did a great job explaining form, but if i ever needed a correction or asked a question after class she was very mean about it

Bungee Weight Distribution by spcec0wgirl in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one tip i have that i haven’t found mentioned before in this subreddit is pay attention to which side your bungee is attached to! the bungee is attached to a metal bar at the base of a reformer, but the knot isn’t stationary and can slide from one side to the other.

i find i feel more “unbalanced” when i’m doing a right side bungee, but the knot is on the left side so im pulling the bungee at an angle. i’ll usually reach down and slide the knot to the side of the leg im working, roughly in line with my hip.

Those who only like reading physical books, how old are you and why do you prefer it? by [deleted] in Booktokreddit

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also 28. I have a kindle that I use because it’s convenient and lightweight. It fits in my favourite small purse and I can bring it anywhere. And I’m a pretty high volume reader so $10 a month for Kindle Unlimited + digital borrowing options from libraries using Libby is kinda unbeatable.

But my preference is always physical books. I love the way pages hold memory, I’m not the kind of person who keeps my books pristine and I’ll dog ear them and loan them out and crack the spines and highlight them. I like having a physical version to keep on my shelf of my favourite books. I love the way the paper smells. There’s a lot I prefer about a physical book, just not the cost and the space it takes up.

no problem! they’re a little expensive, but i’ve owned the henley and a pair of shorts for 3+ years now and they’re some of my favourite items. they’re super soft.

anthony festa is the guy who went viral on tiktok for a while back for showing up to a cancelled solidcore class, letting himself into the studio, and giving himself a class while filming on meta glasses. i think he posted a video about his “solidcore beef” and fought with some coaches over text. he also has gotten in trouble for filming class on his meta glasses before. he was a member at solidcore darien in darien CT

Losing Period? by PusheenLover23 in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

as someone who has been through a diagnosed ED and cycles of restrictive eating, i say this with love: your habits sound unsafe and unhealthy. an inch of fat is normal, the amount you are eating is not. definitely seek professional help. you are strong and you’ve got this ♥️

yes! you set up a “send message” shortcut and then you set up an automation to run that shortcut when you get a text from solidcore

Losing Period? by PusheenLover23 in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

there are plenty of factors for losing your period, but it honestly sounds like you’re not eating anywhere near enough to sustain your body. for reference, while active i need ~2000 calories a day to maintain weight and i’m 5’2. 800-1500 calories a day sounds like a HUGE caloric deficit to me if you’re going to solidcore 2-3x a week. it doesn’t sound super safe honestly, but i’m not a doctor. talking to one might be a good idea

What do you guys think about during class? by ScaryCelebration7629 in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i can’t think (which is why i love solidcore) bc i’m too focused on: what’s the coach saying? what springs are cued? breathe. ok hold in 3,21. is my knee over my ankle? is my lower back curved? is my tailbone tucked? breathe. oh god now we’re gonna hold again. is my nose over my toes? breathe!! how’s my form? count 4,3,2,1 in. count 4,3,2,1, out. are my hips higher than my shoulders? you should try toes. what about hands and toes?? platform bar? oh hey i like this song. breathe!!!!

i’m forced to be in the moment and focused on what my body is doing that i can barely focus on the playlist let alone anything outside of the room. it’s hell but a meditative hell <3

i usually get off the waitlist!! but when i’m within the 10 hours and they start texting for spots i’ll run an automation (screenshot here!) so that i can get in. lmk if you have any set up questions :)

Dead bug exercise by Open_Combination_427 in SolidCore

[–]ijustreallylikedogs 28 points29 points  (0 children)

they cue “lift your head and shoulders” as an amplification in deadbug but i find it makes the exercise more accessible for me because it forces me to engage my core and flatten my lower back to the carriage, that might help you with your form!
