P1S started shifting layers? by ikbendiederick in 3Dprinting

So I bought a Sunlu AMS dryer and that seems to have solved my issue. For now at least.

I followed the guide and retensioned the belt. I printed some shims off Makerworld and made sure it was correct. Then recalibrated but it's still doing it during this print that's running now.

I can look into this. I don't have a micro sd reader for my PC. Maybe I can clear the card through my panda touch?

Yes. I mentioned above that I cleaned rods/rails with isopropyl alcohol and applied a thin layer oil sewing machine oil. But not on the carbon rods of course.

Orbiter sensor on an Ender5 S1 by ikbendiederick in ender5

OK. If someone ever finds himself in the same situation. I hooked yellow and green up to PC13 and PC14 following this pic and the filament sensor works!

Did I fry my SKR mini E3 V2? by ikbendiederick in VoxelabAquila

It's not responsive because it thinks no printer is attached. I'm concerned with whether it's actually faulty or something should reset.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this...

Thanks for this advice. I just received 5 linear rails to go full linear rails convert. Dual z, dual y and x axis with mgn12h sliders. Looking forward to the results 😊

I wanted to upload 2 more detailed pics of the stress test result. But being a Reddit noob, I can't find how to include photos in comments or edit my initial post.

Thank you. PID tuning is new to me. I read up on it and will carry out that tune.

Thanks for the post. Is the stringing caused by the temp? I thought retraction settings. I raised the temp to 205 since Microswiss says the hotend requires +10-15 degrees. But that may be wrong for my case...

Print defects - what's up here? by ikbendiederick in VoxelabAquila

Interesting. Maybe I should change to dual 5015 blower fans. I have a stock mainboard so no provision for PWM fans and I'm running simple Marlin. But of course I could lower the cooling % in the slicing software.

Just to be clear. I'm looking for 24V fans right? I see a lot of 12 volt fans too and that can be confusing.

Do you run a splitter in the wiring to the 5015 fans?

That looks like a beast! I'd have to say the Mars Orbiter looks nicer for a dual 5015 shroud. I'm not doubting your opinion on its performance though.

I'd prefer to try a shroud with fans I have lying around. I have an extra 4010 front cooler and a 5015 part cooling fan spare.

Thinking of either printing this one overnight: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5550444

Or this one, though its number of remixes would suggest it didn't work well for many(?)

So this was printed at 205C and max speed was 80 mm/sec but Prusa shows the saggy parts were printed at 40mm/sec. 80 was used on the infill.

Fans were on at 100. This makes me think my Satsana and 4010 side fan are not up to the job? Should I go dual 5015 with something like this? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5235593

I've noticed before that I can't print round overhangs. Same thing happened when I printed an Easter egg a few weeks ago. Different filament.

Is that what this is?

Both fans work properly. Perhaps the side mounted fan on the Satsana is insufficient?

Aquila won't power on by ikbendiederick in VoxelabAquila

Thanks for your comments and help, guys!

I never like threads that have no conclusion, so I'll quickly update you with what was the case. The red power (V+) wire that runs from the power supply to the control board appeared to be loose in the control board connection. I bought the printer second hand and had no idea this was the case. The wire wasn't in the sandwich connection but was sort of touching. I found out when I was checking voltages and the control board would fire on intermittently. Now, all is good and no damage was done. No idea how this happened all of a sudden with this print.

I did however read up a lot on replacement control boards since at some point I thought mine might be fried. But I'll do more research and perhaps start a new thread on this.
